    M35A3 wheel beadlocks

For road use, go for the thinner. Front on a rock crawler mud bogger .... would use the thick ones. I'm assuming thicker results in more pressure against the rubber bead to hold it in place. G....are there thick and thin beadlocks used with combat and other 10" wide wheels. I have some in...

    DeSpline Questions

If you don't want to ruin a perfectly good spline hub, consider making a blank to cover the bearings. Use the dished head to an air tank, readily available, and weld on a flange.

    M35A3 wheel beadlocks

Just discovered that these A3 beadlocks, Hutchesin 11 x 20 have different weight. Now I see a difference in the thickness. Rubber of one is about an inch thick and the other is 3/4. The thicker would seem to put more pressure than the thinner one. To me, this suggests that we have some...

    M35a2 Torque arms

Look at the twist when one rear axle goes up and the other down. It puts a huge torque on them that can bust a retainer off if the retainer is 90* to the bone (some people weld on). My A3 was one of the last produced and I don't know if they were replaced. I have 6 attached to the trunion...

Govplannet m1123 Barstow rebuild SF97 question

Indiana titles the same from a bill of sale as it does from an SF97. I've bought and titled 18 military trucks and about that many trailers, 17 on BOS and 1 with SF97. They require police inspection but treat the bill of sale the same.....so why even get an SF97 unless your state will not...

To insulate under the hood or not.

Those retainers are the biggest rust area and they fall apart when touched. Not useable in my case. A place about 30 miles away makes rock wool board product with aluminum skin. . I'll do a dumpster dive...they throw a lot away.

    Troubleshooting electrical issues

While fixing the light above I found something that I didn't know. Both of the mounting bolts are used for ground. One is the stop run lights and the other is the blackout. I understand the power wire being separate but why the ground? Of course one needs a quality connection of bolt to...

To insulate under the hood or not.

Thanks bill, but I can't attach it and don't want to glue it on. A late RR rebuild had 1" foam that was real nice. Still, without spot welding on retainers ...maybe a chicken wire frame or some welded wire. I don't want to put on something flammable either, like have urethane sprayed on.

    Air Dryer

Hi Maribor, welcome to the site. Please put your state and/or other information in. We have several vendors to purchase from and give you information. Of course in the past, the old timers would scold you for not doing research first......, those times mostly gone. I recently put a new...

To insulate under the hood or not.

My 929 that is excellent otherwise had wet insulation on the underside of the hood and made spots of rust on the inside of the hood. I removed it and it dried out and put the rust in check. In north Indiana we can get rather cold, so not having insulation could be a problem. I'll be...

    M35A3 wheel beadlocks

The Henderson 20 x 11 are entirely rubber like Dave (Eastern) posted above. I have not seen steel ones for A3 wheels.

I put a lock out pin/bolt in my 1101. It stops the ram from moving, is the small bolt on first photo.

    M35A3 wheel beadlocks

The ones that work on A3 wheels, like Dave shows above for the 11" wide wheel, which say 20x11, actually measure 10" wide. Same is in the 14.5.

    M1061 modifications

Here is the motor mount. It's solid with no isolation. I'm wondering about putting the entire unit on a thin rubber pad. Also, here is a rough sketch using steel roof corrugated material for sides, front, gate. The moving floor is all added to the back, about 30", and a conveyor is to be...

    M1061a1

Glcaines asked about brakes.....What is your plan? They are one heck of a trailer and a value because people underestimate weight, handling and brakes. Trailer empty is almost 6,000 + truck at 7500 is already above 13'500 which is above the 3500 rating empty. I would make it a gooseneck...

    M1061a1

Are you sure you want a loaded 1061 behind a pickup??? Sorry, but I'm questioning using my deuce as a pull vehicle. They want to go straight. The axles are wide apart making any turn drag some tires and a relatively short tongue. It not only will push you at a stop....it will be in a...

Any electricians out there?? 120/240 Circuits Question

Fine mount. Water does not go up and you probably used a knock out hole, so didn't have to disturb too much wiring. Still, do what you can to put a seal at the top so water does not find the mounting holes. What did you end up with for the branch breaker?

    M929/M930 Dump Box Floor Area?

My small farm is nearly all pure sand...and I have an area of muck that is like being on jello. Turning is not an option. getting in and out will require low.. going forward I'll engage the front. I'll see how a loaded 1061 pulls in my sand soon making wind rows. I think it will do great...
