I have spun the drum this way and that... all while trying to move the drum cluth lever. Nothing. The drum free spins it seems like no matter what I do. and the drum lock is NOT engaged. I will hook the hoses up later this afternoon when the rain stops and my paper work is all complete...
I appears to me after taking the motor apart and putting it back together that perhaps it has never ran? I can't see but maybe a couple of very small wear marks. I also had to (using my brass drift of course) tap the parts back together that make the gearotor ( star and seven cylinders that all...
ok tobyS... I took the gearotor apart today.. not on speck of rust. Very Very tight. used a brass drift to take it apart... had to use it to put everything back together too. Reinstalled pump and all the parts. only had time to do a test on the pump. Turned it on with the hose's...
I cracked the lines when I did my pressure test. I know enough to know to not stand in the way of a hydro hose when under pressure. It has pressure to the motor. Took the motor off and something appears to be wrong. I think something is lodged in the head of the motor. When I take the...
Ok.. I disconnected the hoses at the motor by the front of the truck. which is connected to the winch itself. I then started the truck engaged the pto and fluid was coming out of one side the two hoses. I assumed that meant I was getting fluid flow from the valve spool? Could it be I'm not...
Ok !! got the pump spinning, levers working and switching valve... well switching!!! Now my problem is that the have hydro fluid to the front of the truck... but the pump attached to the winch itself isn't working for some reason. I took the four bolts out that hold the pump to the winch and...
I wonder how much time a person would spend backing up and turning to get around in parking lots? Maybe a long streach of highway or a super big parking lot ... then it might be useful.
and sorry ... yes you can hear it when the PTO is actually engaged. it's not very loud but I had the floor access panel open when I was doing all my testing tonight.
:jumpin:What I learned is that you can not.. .and I mean can not engage the pto unless the transmission is in any gear buy neutral... make sure the selector is in 1-5.. then engage the lever on the PTO either manually or using the selector in the cab.. I haven't even got to acutally get my...
It was next to the PTO lever... short little flat head... about a quarter of an inch long. had to clean all the crap out to even find it little thing!!
ok... went and took the plate off that faces the font of the truck that is one the PTO. had to remove two bolts that hold the tranny dipstick in place along with the bracket that holds the linkage for the PTO lever. It is just a race for the bearing that is on the end of the shaft that exits...
:-Djust looked at the pto... I'm with you 819 I'll pull that back cover off and check for some kinda stop or something easy.. pulling the pump looks like a total b%^H of a job. very tight quarters to work with.
Thanks !!
Yes, following the Tm's for operation. but I can't get the shaft to even spin. Going to look for spacer today. Basically I'm not getting any flow of fluid from the PTO is what appears to be happening. And yes I'm putting the truck in drive then engaging the pto then putting back into neutral...
I have alrady disconnected the control cables and am running everything by hand. And still nothing. forget to say that yes.. it is a usmc truck. So you thing pulling the pump and checking for a " spacer" might be the route to go? I will work on that today. Thanks to everyone for helping...
Ok, here's the story. Bought a 923a with the hydraulics already on the truck. Got a winch from Glen out at BFR metals in salina. Installed the winch and hooked everything up. Before I even turned a tap I tried to ready the TM's from front to back about winches', winch maintenance, etc. I...
got it running !!! Is everyone else but me aware there are more than one style of solenoid on the starters? Heck there is even more than one style of starter! It has never started so fast!!!
