    "Hot Start Issue"

It is not a solenoid issue. GM knows that there was an issue called hot start which is a misnomer as it did it cold too. There is a wiring defect that groups the M series CUCV trucks into the civilian problem as the basic wiring was the same. You can change starters or solenoids all day long...

    "Hot Start Issue"

I know that this subject has been covered before. I have a M1009 with 12 volt starter and one alternator but all else is the same. Been through the military added relay change but the civy trucks had the same problem. Anyone know how to add the starter button mod so that when the key switch...

Front axle seals and boots stepXstep

I purchased 6 NOS from a popular supplier. The OEM springs are 3/8 inch longer and easier to install.

Brake Bleeding w/ Remote Master Cylender

I was only thinking about the DOT 5 fluid having some ability to be compressed as stated earlier in this thread. If we could put water in the brake system with no measurable compressibility that would give us the firmest feeling brake possible but of course that is not the correct fluid for...

Brake Bleeding w/ Remote Master Cylender

Actually the TM says .010 on the bottom but I went .012. On top I went to .020 but this is due to brand new shoes that have small burrs and fuzz on them. after the 15 to 20 miles with braking I will do the brake adjustment all over from scratch with shoes that area now trued out. I did keep 5...

Brake Bleeding w/ Remote Master Cylender

Yes I did. I installed new shoes on both rear axles and removed and cleaned all backing plates and brake components, etc. Front shoes were at 10% or less usage. Front shoes removed and cleaned and put back in same position. Did major adjustment. Going to put about 20 miles on it and do another...

Brake Bleeding w/ Remote Master Cylender

Well after bleeding my brakes following the replacement of all the wheel cylinders and flex hoses I have less than comfortable peal feel. I was going to drive it cautiously around the block to burn the fuzz off the new brake shoes and get a feel for the general condition and 24 hours after...

Brake Bleeding w/ Remote Master Cylender

So I failed to read 100% of the information here and deserve three days in the electric chair for the offense! lol I bled the brakes on my M35A2 due to all new wheel cylinders and flex hoses and brake shoes, etc. I did not gravity bleed the wet side of the air pack first and had my "soldier 2"...

    lsmft

Having driven my M35A2 from Baton Rouge, LA to Louisville, KY about two years ago I would like to make a couple of suggestions. Hearing protection and a way for hands free cell usage as many states will pull you over for having a cell phone to your ear as they will for having it in your hand...

    M35A series brake shoes

I purchased a pallet jack like that and it looks like mine as mine is a Toyota brand. Two metal braces coming up from the frame to the wheel should hold it in place and allow the device to handle that 400 to 500 lb. weight of the tire and wheel. MRAP tires on mine.

Front axle seals and boots stepXstep

Thank you Sir. I agree and I will put all four on the rear axles. I am planning on doing the front axle too but that is a longer project due to inner seals and boots in addition to bearings, wheel cylinders, and seals so it is a "next weekend" thing. :) I will purchase two more so that I...

Front axle seals and boots stepXstep

I need some advice here. I may be at a work stoppage due to discomfort in lack of knowledge. I am doing my brakes, wheel cylinders, bearings, and seals plus boots up front. Front axle seals and boots stepXstep

Hello fellow owners, I have a need for clarification on a torque related to this area. M35A2; TM9-2329-209-20-3-2, page 14-53, Rear Axles Bearing Nut(s) installation process. Turn inner nut until the wheel binds slightly and tighten back off 1/8 turn. Install outer nut and torque to 50 ft...

    M35A series brake shoes

That is great news. Can you two give me the contact info or at least point me to city and state? Jim PS: Do either of you remember an approximate cost or percentage of savings? The shoe set is anywhere from $68 to 75 depending on the vendor.

    M35A series brake shoes

Hello fellow MVers. I had two wheel cylinders stick and the forward rear axle got hot on both sides. I have all six new Wagner wheel cylinders and all new flex hoses ready plus I am replacing all bearings and seals on all wheels but I just was not quite ready to do it so soon. What I need a...

    M1009 tailgate issue

At about 100,000 I had what GM called a Core Shift. My engine block cracked ver quickly from the forward left clear down and around and back up into the second left side cylinder. Through the water jacket and had water in the oil very fast. They said some early 6.2 blocks did this and that was...

    M1009 tailgate issue

I need the right side latch that grabs the hook on the tailgate opening in the body. I can send a picture via email if needed. The left side is different for electric tailgate but right is the same for both. Jim
