    Toys for Tots 2014 Events

Well, the Bergen County Run of the TfT Train 2014 got the series of 4 runs off to an '...OUTSTANDING...' start (to quote the 1st Sgt from Picatinny). Here's a short video of the train arriving in Wycoff, stop 3 of 6, just when it decided to get serious about the rain. Quick glimpse of...

    M116A2 & M116A3 Brake Part Interchangeability?

I reviewed the TM, looked at a bunch of photos, and I think I figured out that the surge brake assembly on the towing frame and the brake parts from the backing plate outward are the same on these 2 trailers. Is that correct, or if I'm mistaken, could anyone point me to a reference? Thanks...

DEUCE BRAKE LINE REFERENCE GUIDE (Sizes, lengths, fittings)

Could someone confirm a size & thread or NAPA # for this part mentioned above? TEE PLUG (TO USE WHEN BOBBING A DEUCE AND REMOVING REAR AXLE HOSE): I'm not clear whether it is 7/16 x 24 or 1/2 x 20. I'd prefer not to take the part off for measurement before I have the plug. Great thread...

    Pole Trailer Identification Help

I'm wondering if anyone might be able to say if this is a military trailer. I haven't been able to find one with this dualie configuration. I know the tires seem to be civilian. Doesn't look like an M310. Thanks. Steve

Anyone want to rescue a M211?

It's really a bear trying to find a yellow truck on a mountain near a Class 6 road near Lempster, NH on Google Earth. That'd give a better idea on the recovery problem. 'Fraid I'll have to give up. Steve

    Toys for Tots 2014 Events

Bergen Harley Davidson sent out their weekly newsletter today and this was in it. Now a bunch of people know of at least 1 collection point in the area. They meet our train at the 1st stop and deliver the toys they collect. The photo is from last year's drop off. We were there last week...

    Color Confusion/Identification

24087 is quite brown in most light, but at some angles of sunlight it gets dark green. Here are a couple of Vietnam photos with USMC trucks showing what I think is 24052, so that should be authentic, too. Don't go by computer monitors for tint because they vary widely. Steve

    Show us your Military Trailers

Several of the Ling's people know it well, and I know of the Torsk through Maddog's posts here and one of their [former] volunteers stopped by the Ling over the summer. It's a bit of a haul between locations. Thanks. End of thread hijack. Steve

    Show us your Military Trailers

Worth mentioning that the guy on the right in photo 2 is a 94 y/o sub vet of the USS Lapon and saw duty in the Pacific. He shows up at the Ling EVERY Saturday and Sunday at 8:30 or so and does anywhere from 2 - 3 tours each day. The WWII Sub Vet flag is his. He donated another to the Navy sub...
