Any new problems after turbo install?

The biggest side effect of all the turbo upgrades I've done on 6.2's is a pesky smile I can't keep off my face while driving them!;)

    New Seats for CUCV

Yes. I think you'll have the put sliders off the CUCV seats on them, but the seat itself is the same. I have a set and I've matched them up, and they are identical.

    New Seats for CUCV

82 - 85 Camaro seats are the same as the seats that were used from the factory in M1009's. They came in some Cavaliers, Sunbirds also. There are new seat covers available in maroon is an almost exact match to the factory M1009 set covers. They don't have the small "basketweave" strip under the...

Ideia to quiet down a 6.2L

I a turbo absolutely quietens the noise of the intake, and if you use mufflers, it will be quieter out of the exhaust. Here is 3 different 6.2's I have made a video clips of. The NA 6.2 is by far the loudest under the hood. The first is a 6.2 with a 6.5 turbo setup. The 2nd is a 6.2 with the...

Down side to putting a 6.5 turbo in my 1009?

Absolutely no down side. The power difference is like night and day, the fuel mileage is about the same (unless your WOT to hear the turbo all the time!), and putting the turbo on quietens the engine significantly. I have ebgine with both the Banks and 6.5 turbos, and the 6.5 makes more low end...

    Ga boy built a bobber!

I may take you up on coming up there and checking that bad boy out, if you don't mind. I may also be interested in having you do another one!

    Soccer moms LOOK OUT!!!

I picked up my kids from daycare for the first time yesterday and my 5 yr old son was telling another kid "My dad's army truck is "awesomer" than your dad's big truck!" (The kid's dad drives a rollback to pick up his son up sometimes). His teacher said he had been talking about it all day long...

Looking for M35A2, maybe an A3....need some suggestions.

They are some still out there cheap if you look around. I paid $2500 for mine with the M105 trailer. It runs and drives perfect.

    M1009 rear window key lock

The lock cylinder on my M1009 has been like that since I got it, but I found that you can stick 1/8 allen wrench in the slot inside the handle where lock cylinder goes and it will engage the crank mechanism. This was a temporary way to let the window up and down, but I have never fixed it. If...

    Disappearing act

I mistakenly turned my blackout lights one time and went outside later that night to get something only to see nothing them glowing. My M1009 was parked near the woodline and it was freaky looking until I figured out what I was seeing! -lol

Cucv Glow Plug Part Number for Replacement

60g's are good glow plugs, but I have become a fan of Bosch Duraterms. The Duraterms heat up faster, and last longer than the 60g's. The 60g's would be a second choice, but having the Duraterms in my last two 6.2's, I would buy them again. Either one blows Wellman, 11g's, etc out of the water.

    Injector types?

I've been running these engines for many years, and I've never had a injector suffer a sudden failure. I'd had them get to where there is a lot of white smoke at start up, a trail of white smoke at idle, and I had one stick and started "knocking" on a truck that sat a long time (I bled it and it...

    Srarting fluid issue?

I'll add that this applies to overuse of ether. Many people have used to crank 6.2/6.5's for decade or more (with the GP system disabled of course) using ether to start every day with no issues. I had a '84 K10 that the PO used ether for the whole time he had the truck (from about 1992 - 2003...

    Srarting fluid issue?

I would check the fuel line before I did anything. It stands to reason if the only thing he worked on was the starter bolt, that he may have damaged the fuel line under the truck. The slightest pin hole in the fuel line will do exactly what you are describing. A pinhole behind the fuel pump can...

Is a M1009 right for me?

Good luck with it! I absolutely love mine. I would recommend staying away from huge tires. The 6.2 is not a powerhouse, and unless you turbocharge it, its going to be a dog with big tires. Been there, done that.
