A 5.3L will always be a cheaper buy then a LS1/2/3/6 etc. I also said for around the $5k price that comes with a trans too. Your not getting a LS with a trans for a grand, and if you are their both junk.. Let the Internet crap talking begin !

First LS based engine was the LS1 that came out in the 1997 Corvette C5. If you shop smart you can get a "junkyard" LS motor and trans out of a wrecked car or truck for under $5k..

I cut out the "bar" behind the drivers seat and rigged up a slide for the front seat to move back and forth. Huge difference.

Not to start this " fight" again but a well built / Stage 2 or 3 700R4 will do just fine behind a 6.2 / 6.5L Humvee. Plus you don't have to deal with electronics, different drive shafts, etc..

Agree 100%. I have been going around to try and find a decent shop that can / and more importantly wants to work on these trucks with little to no success. Figure in a city like Chicago that wouldn't be a issue but I was wrong..
