Thank you. Also, I didn't know the 831 was capable of split 240v. I see them from time to time. Good to know!
Ahhhhh, that makes perfect sense about the wasted energy part. What constitutes as "heavily loaded"? 10A? 15.99?
My generator is a ways from my house. I'm going to add a display meter...
USA homes run 120/240v split, single phase (I believe that's the correct terminology). I have read multiple posts of very good information from @Isaac-1 about the MEP-701A/016B generator (the first military generators I've owned):
Examples...
I just bought a fuel fired arctic kit - well, it's most of the parts of a kit. Missing things such as the in-cab fuel fired heater, fuel lines, and most especially, the instructions. I'd love to get installing this kit.
I'd be *very* appreciative if you could digitize your instructions! I'd...
Each corner of the body of this A3 has 4 holes that perfectly match adding a pair of the standard military jerry can mounts like so (and I've seen photos of other M116A3 trailers with 4 pairs of cans like this):
I don't quite have enough mounts in my possession for that, but not like...
I found an NOS park brake handle on eBay that came with the mounting hardware too.

Stamped on the side of the lever base is "MFR 081X2".
It appears to be the same thing, with just a slightly different handle top. I'll report back on how well it fits in reality.
Great idea. I appreciate an additional way to verify that the circuit breaker is good. I reconnected the Main Circuit Breaker, A1, A2, & A3 side only ("Line" side) with the 'B' side ("Load" side) not connected. I started the generator and the circuit breaker did not trip when moved from "OFF" to...
I would appreciate a little help diagnosing the problem of me not getting power on the output terminal and the Main A/C Circuit Breaker tripping with no load:
My 1986 MEP-016B (with ~784 hours) starts and runs great, even after a long period of sitting.
I have my generator configured in the...
Well, at least we don't have that problem in Utah (yet?). You have a grace period after buying a vehicle or trailer (usually to go straight home). I can't register said trailer without it being titled (maybe you can, I might be wrong). I'm not registering mine though, I just want that...
Thanks Frank, but I've removed that thread you linked as you helped me answer my question so well I didn't feel it was warranted leaving up.
But for you @jwhite9787, you don't have much to worry about. Your 1/2 ton truck is more capable than my little Dodge Dakota and even then the typical...
Thanks! I had heard it was a standard lugnut pattern, but I've never looked up to see with what. I plan to move it some times with my M35A2, so the ride height would probably be a good thing. Also, I know most people hate the run flats, but I like the concept of them and it saved me here.
Thanks glcaines! I'm very pleased with it for sure! Definitely more than I needed on my house, but man, I couldn't say no and it's so much quieter than my 3kw MEP-701A's!
More pics since I'm limited to 10 pictures per post.
Close ups of the tire I want to replace. Judging by the date code...
Yesterday (Feb 04th, 2022) I purchased an MEP-803A 10kw mounted on an M116A3 trailer with the "Power Unit PU-798" body. I believe both were manufactured in 2003 and were rebuilt/reset in September 2010 and delivered in October 2010. The generator had 77.4 hours of runtime. It even still had the...
