    Adding a battery disconnect switch

I used a CAT disconnect switch that a member posted about here. Installed it in the front of the battery box panel in the passenger footwell. I had already removed all of the slave jumper stuff and one of those cables worked perfectly. I switched the negative side.

    Spare 6.2L engine question

Well since it came from a Blazer it may have had a 700 R4 tranny. If the TV cable bracket is still on the engine that's an easy $100. Sell the IP and anything else you won't use. You may come out with a spare engine for hardly anything.

For all you DIY guys Monster Transmission has a tech section that explains the TV cable function/adjustment very well.

    700R4 transmission in a HMMWV

When I get the correct bracket in I will compare them and post here what I find. I have heard, not seen, that the original Humvee bracket can be modified to work. From what I have read, the TV cable adjustment is a sort of do or die thing. It has to be right. I will do my own install when the...

    700R4 transmission in a HMMWV

I gave up on balancing those 12 bolt wheels wheels. I stood right by the machine and watched the tech try to balance my set of 12 bolts. Tons of weight and it still wasn't right.Gave up. Modified a set of H2 wheels and mounted Firestone MT2's, Same tech, same machine and they took very little...

    M1045A2 with seized engine...

Good job getting it going. I fool around with old tractors and know of many, many that are running after someone drained the water and got them free. Watch your fluids and cross your fingers.

2 Questions: Block Heaters, and 12V/24V Jump Starting

The stick on pan heaters can be had at any of the places that sell tractor parts. Very common to use these on tractors. IF you find yourself with low batteries lets be honest. There ain't gonna be another Humvee that will pull up to help. Then you need the stupid expensive slave cable. So the...

Thanks. Just finished getting the winch and bumper off. That was a job. It has a Dana 70 front axle with a 60 rear. 4.10 according to the diff tag.

    New project...1972 Dodge Club Cab

New project...1972 Dodge Crew Cab This was advertised as military but I can't find anything on it to verify that. The faded green paint may be OD but the truck was originally painted white. I am going to clean it some today but it looks like it has Dana 60's front and rear. The front bumper and...

What have you done to your HMMWV today/lately

I always did like roof racks on trucks. I personally don't have a use for them but they sure do look good. Good job.

    Rough idle/no start

Disconnect the pump from wherever it's mounted, connect a hose to the suction and run a hose down thru the filler spout, temporary power and should be good to go.
