    M923a2 parking brake lockup.

As Ken said; You need to follow the TM or injury can occur. Basically you build up air pressure and just barely crack the top line to the valve. If air is present, then tighten that connection and see if there is air on the bottom line. If not, then you know it is the valve that is bad. Please...

    M923a2 parking brake lockup.

Just found the problem. It is the spring brake valve. Does anyone have and extra they want to sell me. Again this is for a M923a2 cargo truck. Thanks to Ken, he found another TM location that had the appropriate test sequence.

    M923a2 parking brake lockup.

I agree. I was talking to a guy who works on these M923A2 trucks and he says that these valves stick all the time. I said you can't really repair that valve, but they just would replace it. In the field he said that they would work that roller up and down numerous times and sometimes it would...

    M923a2 parking brake lockup.

In the TM's , it looks like line #5 is the air source to the spring brake valve. Your picture is different than what our setup looks like. It is raining now, so it will be awhile before I go out to do some trouble shooting. Thanks again.

    M923a2 parking brake lockup.

Yes, both gauges show approximately 125 psi. at full pressure. We are forecast for seven days of rain, which we need desperately here in a drought stricken California, so I probably will not be able to start diagnosing the problem until after the rains stop. I have about two miles on the...

How I solved the M1101 to tall problem.

I can store the stock tires and wheels, in case I want to sell the trailer in the future. I called a local tire center today, and they have 30 inch tires and 16 inch wheels that would work fine for our trailer. Before I purchase them, I will check to see how level the trailer will ride with...

    M923a2 parking brake lockup.

5tonman1971 Sounds like a good plan. There is information on TM9-2320-272-24-1.pdf page 269-273 on parking brake malfunctions. I will do some trouble shooting tomorrow. Once I locate the cause of the problem I will post it. Thank you for your help.

    M923a2 parking brake lockup.

First of all, I have not driven this truck on the street. I have it on our property. Your sarcasm is not appreciated. Before you show your ignorance on a another persons situation, I suggest you ask before you write. If you would have read my posts, you will see I am here for information, and...

    M923a2 parking brake lockup.

Typo error,,, should read parking brake lockup. I thought I would start a new thread on my problem, because the other thread involving the same issues was remedied, mine is not. Our M923a2 had been working fine. Now the truck will not move because the brakes are locked on. By depressing the...

How I solved the M1101 to tall problem.

From what others have said, replacing the ring with a standard ball type will make the surge brake inoperative. For my usage, the surge brake is not a necessity. I am not sure now, what I will go with, ball or pintle.

How I solved the M1101 to tall problem.

Yes, I see now what you guys are saying. The Reese hitch would be the weak point. I will only use my system when the trailer is empty. I will lower the trailer by installing the shortest tires I can buy that will hold the one ton load safely. tobyS; I will try to incorporate some of your ideas...

How I solved the M1101 to tall problem.

I know that the system I made will work fine. I do appreciate all the inputs from others, and will be checking on the reliability of my system. The bottom is two 1/2 inch plate steel, bolted together. The area above the two plates is gusseted very well so bending would be hard to do, especially...

    M923A2 Spring Brake actuator

This same issue happened to me today. Our M923A2 has been working perfectly until today. I started it up, waited until the air pressure built up, and then released the parking brake, moved the trans shifter from neutral to 5-1. The truck would not move forward. I could move in reverse, but it...

How I solved the M1101 to tall problem.

Remember the 1101/1102 trailers have surge brakes. I can test it later on and let you guys know. Plus take a look at the gussets, they are one inch wide and 3/8 thick and run down the complete length of the plate. This plate is solid. I agree, safety comes first, so I will keep an eye on it...

It is very strong. No problem taking it out on any road.

How I solved the M1101 to tall problem.

When the M1101 is level with the stock 37 inch tires, the pintle is at 29.5 inches from the ground. Most pickup truck hitches are at about 21 inches. You can either lower the trailer or raise the hitch. Since lowering the trailer requires shorter wheels and tires, and that will only drop the...
