Turning Radius, M939 Series: W/O Winch vs. W/Winch

The turning radius has nothing to do with the winch. Maybe it will stick out further, but you are really looking at the distance between the front axle and the rears.

M920 Solenoid by Ether Can Under Hood Melted - Headlights Out

Use the manual to try testing the Protective Control Box. Does the truck start fine? My friend just picked his truck up and it was doing the same thing. Swapped the box out and everything works fine now. EDIT: I didn't realize this was for an M920 until now... Not sure if my previous statement...

    Removing DRMO Graffiti

Just paint over it. I was touching up some spots with the rattle cans and painted right over the markings. That's what is great about MVs. If you scratch it just break out the rattle can. Believe it or not, you can make a rough looking truck look brand new with a few cans.

LOOKING FOR A M925. Need advice!

Personal insurance wouldn't cover you when you are using it for your business. Might as well just not get insurance and wing it haha. Joking! That is a bad idea. Just admit that you are making an excuse to buy a 5 ton :-D. We all do it. My excuse was that I was going to quit dating girls and...

LOOKING FOR A M925. Need advice!

I bought my truck one year ago. I am also in college. I was 19 at the time, turned 20 a couple months after buying the truck. If I did it, you can do it. Just make sure you have a place to store it, a place to insure it, costs to run it, etc... It will for sure exceed your expectations. Let's...

Nevada TO Mississippi VIA I40 recovery M925A1 checklist REVIEW BY SS

Driving at night is not a problem at all... If the headlights and taillights/brake lights work... I have done two 939 recoveries and both had some kind of electrical issue to cause lights to not work. If the lights work, keep going into the night. If they don't, get them fixed or get a hotel for...

Nevada TO Mississippi VIA I40 recovery M925A1 checklist REVIEW BY SS

Very well put together list so far my friend. Welcome to the site. For your hand tools category. Bring some tools for electrical things. Maybe even a way to solder if needed. Along with electrical tape. And plenty of cash just in case. Oh and don't forget some smiles :-D

goldneagle's M923 recovery and modification thread

That is true GE. Even if it did go down, it wouldn't be very much travel to worry about. I forgot that the struts the boxes are attached to are pretty forgiving. I was throwing the idea out there to keep in mind. I don't think any kind of "realistic" off roading we would do with the truck could...

goldneagle's M923 recovery and modification thread

I'd be careful mounting anything under there. Wouldn't want it to be right up against the bottom of the bed anyway. When your bed flexes off road it could smash whatever box you have under there. I was looking at the way GE has it setup right now. Looks like the tie down pocket for the bed might...

Lockers or no Lockers how do you tell !

Just cause a truck has a plaque saying it has lockers, doesn't mean it has lockers. When these trucks are rebuilt, a lot of small details are left behind. Better test it to make sure. 2cents

    How tall is the M923?

    What is dial-up? Isn't that what cavemen used?:burn: :-D

goldneagle's M923 recovery and modification thread

My dad used two .50 cal ammo cans to make a toolbox for the step of his WC51. It looks very nice. Basically he took one can and took the lid off. Got the second can, cut the floor out of it. Then he welded the one with no floor onto the top of the one with no lid. He bolted it to the step and...

HEMTT and MK48 LVS use the same cab?

Sweet, that's what I wanted to know. Thanks guys. I have seen the different versions and never really understood what I was looking at. Good to know the basics though. Those trucks are amazing. I thought my 923 was big... pfff.

    How tall is the M923?

I agree that it is sometimes easier to just ask a question than look through the manual. But a lot of times I learn other things when searching for what I actually need. Hey hey now... My reply was accurate. All you gotta do is convert nautical miles to inches or feet or kilometers or whatever...

HEMTT and MK48 LVS use the same cab?

So I haven't really looked into the mk48 stuff much. But let me get this straight just so I know. An LVS is is used by Marines? And it articulates. The HEMTTs don't articulate correct?

Anyone have any videos of 900 series trucks mudding?

This is why I am very hesitant on who rides in my truck at parades, events, etc... I would rather only my close friends and family ride in the back. When people are trying to get in the bed of the truck, it makes me cringe. I am only 20 years old and a lawsuit like that would really set me back...
