    underdash starter relay.

doghead, Does your new relay have the purple wires going to the same terminal, or separate? Looks like... Red to right bottom 2 purples to left bottom black to left top and nothing on the right top Or does one of the purple go to right top? How do you know which one? Thank you!

    M1009 gears and recovery question

What are the stock gears on an M1009? 3.08? I saw the towing thread, but how is it for a recovery vehicle and getting trucks out of mud? For a diesel it seems to have a lot of torque but seems to have quite a bit of trouble going up hills, so is it capable of pulling a truck out of mud/snow...

    M1009 rear seat question...

Unless your bolts are super stuck like mine... I need a prybar to get mine off. :-D But yea... they fold foward as stated, but not flat with the rest of the bed. More at like a 90 degree angle to the bed area.

    underdash starter relay.

Awesome, thanks for educating me.

    underdash starter relay.

Got it... thanks, and is the starter solenoid the thing mounted on top of the starter itself? Usually when I've seen them they're on a firewall.

Have 2 leaks... coolant and oil

Thanks for the help, I'll give it a try. The radiator is leaking on the driver's side toward the bottom corner it looks like, so doesn't look like the hose. There is some white on it around that area, but hard to get down there and see exactly where leak is coming from. Doesn't look like it's...

    underdash starter relay.

Is the starter relay primarily used to convert the 24volts to 12volts or what? If you do a 12volt conversion do you bypass the relay?

What is power junction block in cab for?

So theoretically could you rip it out and every wire connected to it to simplify the truck? Not going to do it myself as I'd just screw something up, but simply curious. :-D

Have 2 leaks... coolant and oil

What manual is recommended? I have all the TM's from the site, but is there like a Haynes or something for this truck? I didn't think the Haynes covered the diesel engine so for a newbie like me I'm afraid there isn't a manual for this exact truck enough to do what I need... or am I wrong? :-D

Have 2 leaks... coolant and oil

Thanks guys... not mad at all at the previous owner or anything, he was awesome, so please don't take my comments as I feel like I got jipped. I was just saying it as, "Just my luck," kind of thing. I've changed engine oil, differential fluids, installed an intake, and put on a cat-back...

What is power junction block in cab for?

What is the port under the dash for? The TM calls it a power junction block... it's the circle metal thing under the dash beneath the radio. Has a screw cap that unscrews and a bunch of holes. What plugs into this thing and what's it for? Thank you.

    M1009 Blazer Question

if you mean the underdash relay do a search on starter relay on cucv forum and you'll find a ton of info. Very common issue. Part# is like ac40 or somethin like that.

Have 2 leaks... coolant and oil

Great... not 3 weeks owning the thing and I got 2 leaks. Any idea how much this "could" cost? Leak #1... coolant which looks to be at the base of the radiator on the driver's side. Leaves a small 4" wide puddle after parking it of pure antifreeze. Leak #2... engine oil looks to be leaking...

What happened here... glow plug resistor bypass?

Wait... someone explain this to me... If the military glow plugs are 24volt, then why is there a resistor bank that I thought drops it down to 12volts? Wouldn't that mean the original glow plugs should be 12volt? So since mine is wired like this, the glow plugs it has are probably standard...

What happened here... glow plug resistor bypass?

Got it... thank you! I was going to keep it all stock, but seeing now that it's already been somewhat modified I'm out of luck, so maybe I'll convert starter to 12volts and do away with 24 altogether... maybe.

    CDR Valves No Longer Available

How hard are these to change out? Do you just remove old and hookup new, or is there like bleeding that needs to be done?

What happened here... glow plug resistor bypass?

Questions: #1 If that's the case then is the starter the only part using 24volts on my whole truck now? #2 What's the little relay looking thing to the left of the glow plug relay? #3 So if you hookup X part to the positive of the 2nd battery then you're only getting 12 volts? Where is the...

What happened here... glow plug resistor bypass?

Can someone tell me what was done with the wiring here? I thought everything was wired as stock (except for a Ford glow plug relay the PO put in), but looking today I noticed the glow plug resistor bank has been totally cutoff and not in use. My batteries are still wired in series for 24v it...

CUCV project - operation SO approval

***UPDATE*** Jute and vinyl floor are in... for the most part. I didn't spend as much time on it as I should, and it was cold when I did it so the mat wasn't as plyable which left some large creases in the floor that look like crap, so I gotta fix those, but I'm not expecting a Caddy so it's...

    Greasing help... driveshaft fittings?

So I went to grease my fittings per the lubeorder TM and I can't find any fittings on the front driveshaft as indicated on page 5 on the TM. Where in the world is the fitting or do you just shove grease all over it? :-D Also, on the front I found 3 out of the 4 fittings on that page. I don't...
