    Please don’t say head gasket…

Just to clarify. Augusta Engine is good to go. I was saying "buyer beware" to the other listing with the stolen/copied images. https://www.sthatreal.vip/detail/Cylinder-Head-Multifuel-11682597_nfpw1y23x1wv043.html

    Please don’t say head gasket…

I reached out to the eBay seller and that direct store listing is definitely not the same seller even though the state is the same. Buyer beware for sure on this one.

Where to buy tire and wheel?

You might try Gensco. They treated me right. http://genscotire.com/military.html

Engine repair or swap to LDS?

I'm sorry. I was away for a few days and missed that part.

Engine repair or swap to LDS?

I agree with Jbulach. Unless you want an "as new" engine build I wouldn't hesitate to run those after a good cleaning. If the pits were deeper and the edges could cause possible hot spots then maybe but I'm not seeing that. That pitting is so minor that I don't see any reason to replace them.

    anyone swaped a m35a2 d type turbo to a c type

Excessive boost absolutely does cause head gasket failures. I have no hard data on the drive pressure of these turbos but drive pressure isn't the leading cause of gasket failures. Excessive peak cylinder pressure and advanced timing are. Take the Cummins 5.9 for example. Large turbos or...

    M105 Cover Tie-down Grommets

I rolled the dice and ordered a 7/16 die along with some grommets. Now to figure out the matching rope and try to find the metal rope terminations. What a pain for such a simple manufacturing mistake. =)

    M105 Cover Tie-down Grommets

Finally got around to assembling the bow and hanging the NOS cover on my M105. Noticed a small problem. During manufacturing they missed installing one of the grommets and ropes. See attached. 1. Are these 7/16" grommets? Without prying open one of the tiedown rope clips to take it out of the...

WA State Collector Vehicle Plates and Weights?

That's the way that I'm reading the attached form. Line 7 appears to override line 6 even if line 2 is marked "Yes" but I haven't been able to verify that.

WA State Collector Vehicle Plates and Weights?

After more digging and asking a few questions it appears that a commercial vehicle in Washington State with a GVWR of 16.001 pounds or more requires a DOT number but the very next line on the form states that personal vehicles don't require one. Maybe I just need to find a different DOL office.

WA State Collector Vehicle Plates and Weights?

I'm considering putting collector vehicle plates on the Deuce and the M105A2 due to the low mileage that I drive each year. On the Deuce how do collector plates effect the weight ratings that need to be reported? I'm asking because I noticed that the registration list the scale weight at about...

Engine repair or swap to LDS?

Agreed, but some years back we added valve stem seals to an old tractor engine during a rebuild at the owners request. Less than 50 hours late the guides were shot and the tractor was smoking. Went back in and did the guides again but without stem seals this time. That tractor is still running...

Engine repair or swap to LDS?

Any chance that adding seals where none were intended to be could cause the stems to run "dry" and accelerate wear? Something to consider.

    Odd Brackets on M105A2

Good advice as always Guy. I never leave anything loose. I've seen too many odd items on the side of the road and my first thought is always "what damage could that have done". My guess on the chock appears to have been correct. The single loop for a tiedown and the triangular shape is what...

    Odd Brackets on M105A2

Wait a minute... After staring at them this afternoon I had an idea. What about holders for rubber wheel chocks stood on end? I need to buy a few and see if they’ll drop in there. I’ve been meaning to order some for the Deuce anyway.

    Odd Brackets on M105A2

The M105A2 that I purchased was owned by the US Forest Service at some point. The only modification to the trailer is two of the brackets shown below. Does anyone recognize these brackets? Based on the weld quality maybe they were hand built by the USFS to fit something specific?

    torque rod bushings

I've seen reports of high wear and rapid failure on the new style ends. Other than what is listed in this thread I have no way to verify that though.

    Dualled M105A2 Project. Axle Narrowing?

I looked for one for quite a while. Not much comes up around here. That's when I ran across the free M105 axle. I measured the M200A1 axle on my generator and it's narrower than I would like to go.

    Dualled M105A2 Project. Axle Narrowing?

Unfortunately WADOT is nasty to deal with and they set up on the highway right down the road from my place all the time. I don't mind the work/cost to end up with what I want and make the trailer legal. I have a free spare axle so it's more time investment than cash. If it doesn't work it's no...

    Dualled M105A2 Project. Axle Narrowing?

Added stability and flotation when loaded, and better visibility in the mirrors. Plus, I like the way they look when the fenders are widened accordingly. Sample photos below. What makes you lean towards Option 2?
