California Rattle Snake tastes like chicken. Crickets taste like peanuts and walnuts, only they crunch like popcorn. They will find out about that soon enough too I'm sure.
Now hear this:

I'm going nearly the whole 4x4 pickup/blazer/suburban path on guidance from my local GM dealer's head mechanic who has been there since the '70's:
#5 is P/N: 15657356
#6 is P/N: 15606882
#9 is P/N: 25097949
3rd party web sites seems to have a mess of what was available, and a lot of it is...
I bought an intake silencer and the OEM GM plumbing for it, but I'm going to pick up a civilian air-filter housing to wrap in dynamat and an acoustic blanket first. That gets the "ping" out of the air filter housing, covers the injector lines, and gives a place to put a pair of valve cover...
First, thanks for continuing to let people know how this is turning out - sometimes people get the fixes they need and don't let people know what worked, so it makes it harder for the next reader to figure out what they should do.
I'll admit that gremlin is a difficult one to debug remotely...
"NOS" Seco SE14063307-1, NSN: 2530-01-154-8146 Got them for $82.50 each shipped outta PA for qty 6x. Eplace user "deuceseller". A quick Google should find them with this info.
I'm doing all four plus a spare tire to make sure the tire size is the same all the way around. The Laufenn tires I...
I grew up knowing what the underside of a tree looked like, and so will my kids dang it!!
The oldest is 4-1/2 now, and he and his younger brother already know what it is like to wake up cool, and find that it's below freezing outside the sleeping bag (and no kidding on that). They also know...
Quick update since this thread dropped out to page 17 of the Aux Equipment forum...
Last of the tents are shipping next week after a long holiday lull, and a hit from the IRS last year - and buying and repairing a M1009 CUCV... I'm going to be in the market for some 103 tent liners as both of...
Tires and rims are ordered - I'm up to twice a day keeping the air at 35PSI, drops to 20PSI when parked at work and overnight at home.
I'm hoping the rims get here by Wednesday, I have a Thursday tire appointment already scheduled.
Just about any Butyl Rubber Sealant will do. Butyl rubber stays flexible for decades so it doesn't crack or tear like a latex calk. When I do anything weather expose to a structure or vehicle, I think about how the rain can get in, seal the drip and splash points and provide a surface tension...
I know, that's why I don't want to bother with patching it - makes me very nervous already when I air it up. I use the remote type air fill (clamp it on, adjust a regulator to set the pressure, and open a valve from several feet away). At least it's not a truck tire at 120psi, those letting go...
Yeah, that stuff is similar to Green Slime.
I have learned that tire sealant is not good for the rims, and really ticks off tire shops that have to change a tire filled with that stuff (rear as: big mess), but I do use it in tube tires (bikes). Given how dry, cracked, and sun-bleached the...
Huh, I'm going to have to throw in the towel on the CAD drawing, lest you be done with the actual truck before the drawing is done... I'll post up the picture I did before when I get home tonight. Work is eating up all of my free time right now (even over the last few weekends).
Yes. I'll...
Bummer, one of my rear tires (one of the three remaining which came with the truck - and REALLY OLD) has developed a slow leak. Aired up Friday, down to 15PSI today about 6-2/3 PSI/day (not good). Haven't seen a rock or nail in the tire, so I'm guessing whatever it was has moved on...
