http://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?43109-M52a2-aia-to-air-intercooler Found it, sorry its a 5 ton not deuce. As far as the heads from what I understand the block and heads are identical between the civi and military engines. The Civi does have different parts added and a few more holes...
Someone installed an Isuzu intercooler on their deuce with good results and instructions. I have the thread saved somewhere but the wife is taking a test on my laptop so ill find it later. I still interested in the porting. I've been trying to read up on Hercules D4800 and D5000 engines. From...
Boom angle iron. I was trying to reinvent the wheel and your way is better. How did you do the squared sheets for the floor. Is it just welded on top of the old cut floor or did you remove the old floor. The first pic has the old angle cut floor and the second is of nice squared off pieces.
**** bro, my day off I watch some TV or work on a project not do some math homework. Very interesting though. I'm convinced any engine can put out more power but to many here believe the MF is the worst thing ever invented and its a miracle if it runs and doesn't blow up on during normal use...
How did you tie in the supports on the bottom and corner? I really wish I could see the spot welds to drill them out and replace the whole floor with one or two pieces but they painted some thick #$%! on it so that outs. I might just trace around the supports, leave the thin sheet metal on top...
I used the waterloo kit. The instructions are kind of lacking but luckily Hanksdeuce has some great pics on his website that fill in the blanks. Also I've discovered cheap bits go dull quickly and expensive ones break so if you do it just buy four 1/2" bits and take the ones you don't need back...
After fighting the weather and every sort of problem imaginable the power steering is finally installed and working. Its a world of difference, but I'll only have time to enjoy it till I start the crew cab build...I'm starting to think these deuces are a never ending project.
I almost choked on my drink laughing at your reply. How much rubbing are you experiencing and is it always or just when you hit a bump and the suspension compresses? It could be as easy as adjusting the mount on the fender or heating the tube and bending it or having to cut and weld up a full...
THANK YOU! I've looked everywhere for pics of a crew cab deuce that is still 6x6 and you have done it. It looks awesome. The 4x4 ones are nice but I don't want to sacrifice off road capability and I just love having two rear axles. I'm going just slightly off design of yours but its going to be...
I'm sure a rear mounted tire carrier would really benefit the bobbed truck guys off road. I think the biggest problem is supporting all the weight and have it out of the way so the tailgate can drop. I think it would be easier to cut the tail gate in half and make it a swing open, or build a...
I'm all excited to work on the truck and get things going. I read threads like this and think I need to do that to my truck, dang that's going to suck and break my back, UGH. The price of owning an awesome big truck.
The flag code is a great reference for people on how to properly display the colors. However that being said the supreme court found it unconstitutional to make it law and punish those not following it. I haven't checked all 50 states but I know of at least three that I have lived in have laws...
POV= personally owned vehicle, PPE= Personal Protection Equipment, TC=truck commander, Ground Guide=person who walks and directs the truck where to go for safety in tight or highly congested areas.
Did a big field operation and we had to break down the TOC on Sat evening SO DEUCE TO THE RESCUE! Only had one small LMTV and three 1097s before. Allowed us to do it two trips and one night. So I didn't have to come in today to finish.
