I got one of the pumps running pretty easily. I need to fiddle with the other two some more. These are the first every 1 cylinder diesels that I have messed with. The engines are Farymann from germany. I found a place that sells parts, and a users manual for the whole lmt3000 unit.
I hope you don't have to have emissions every year!
When I got my 5-ton registered in Arizona it took forever in the DMV. First they wanted $700 becaused of the weight. Finally they registered it as an historic vehicle and tweeked the weight fees down to about $150. I was good for a year, but...
When I built some apartments, my painter used a metal paint from Dunn Edwards on the metal doors. It didn't have any water in it and made a great finish on the doors. He said he had painted a car with it and it looked good. I'll have to check Dunn and see if they still have something for metal...
I believe I have a tranny cooler on it too. (It is in storage now or I would look) If you aren't towing you should be fine, but it you are going to tow, get the largest cooler you can find! You will also want a tranny temp gauge too.
Another interesting problem I had once: The truck would...
On my blazer, the mechanic installed some kind of a thermostat so that my glow plugs don't come on at all above a certain temp. It used to annoy me that they came on when the engine was started even when it was warmed up. It seems like the glow plugs last longer now too. The blazer glow plugs...
I have a non-military Blazer that I've had since 1990. It came with a 6.2 and I bought a new Banks brand turbo for it. Before I could get it installed the engine died. I found someone to put a 6.5 in and install the banks turbo. It has a lot of power. I went through a couple trannys since. If...
"I sell a few things in the classifieds and include pics when I can make them small enough but for some things you just cant get the pics small enough. If I want to post the pic of a truck I have to be standing an acre away just to get the picture small enough to crop"
There are several free...
looks like I need to look into the cooling first. Does anyone know how full the coolant can is supposed to be, and what manual explains how to change the thermostat?
Thanks for all the input on this. If I remember correctly I think I smelled the burning smell the day before I changed the oil as well as after. It does smell a bit like burning brakes. I agree that it should be hard to slip the clutch in low-low. There is about 2 inches of pedal free play, so I...
I was using my 813 to pack the road this weekend. The road is pretty steep, maybe a 12 degree incline. I was in 1st gear with the xfer case in low and maybe 1500 rpms. A couple times when I went up an area where the soil was a bit soft and the wheels sunk in a little (5 inches or so), I smelled...
I got the oil change this weekend. The wix 15271 fit perfectly. I didn't replace the washer on the end of the canister bolt, but it isn't leaking. I did this late in the evening, so it was getting dark out. After I loosened the canister and let the oil drain over the front diff, I noticed that...
That makes some sense, and explains why I hear a pshhh when I shift into and out of reverse. Does anyone have a guess about how far "a little ways" is? (a few feet, 10 yards...)
