I looked at the classified section many times to figure out how to post and ad, but finally found out you now need 100 posts before you can post an ad. I'm about halfway there :).
I just bought 3 of these 3000LMT Water Purification Units. From the little information on GL's website, they have a 5.8 horse diesel engine, a DE filter, and clorinator. They can purify 3000 gallons an hour.
I wanted to use one to clean water from my pond so that I can used it to wash...
I'm not sure if they are called thimbles and nuts. The inside rears are held on by a long hollow cylinder with threads on both the inside and outside. The inside thread screws on to the studs. I use a square drive socket on these. The outside wheel is held on by a hex nut that screws on to the...
I didn't want to start a thread for this, but I really searched pretty hard and couldn't find this info. I am about to change oil on an M813 with the NHC-250 engine. I have the filter and oil, but I haven't been able to find the gaskets that go on the filter housing. If anyone knows which stores...
It all depends on how much time, money and mechanical ability you have. I've found that by the time I take days off work and buy the fuel, hotels etc, that shipping is cheaper or at least not much more. If you have the time and some mechanical ability you can give it a shot. If it has a major...
I finally had some time to play with this truck. We put some pressure in the right tank but I didn't see a leak at first. I didn't have time to remove the tool box, so I opened the line at the injector pump. Then I had my son pressurize the tank again. Once fuel started coming out the line I...
I wouldn't trust the average person at the DMV. I get different answers from each person I talk to there. Arizona has the Arizona Revised Statutes (State Law) listed on the web. Your state may do the same. Arizona has an exception for recreational vehicles and historic vehicles. I printed the...
I am about to head up to the truck. Does anyone know what size of fuel line it uses. It is a ways to a part store, so I would like to bring some line to save a trip. Thanks
Glad to hear you made it. I'm in Chandler Az. Just wondering if you took an AZ temporary license with you or if you licensed it at all? Did you have to stop at the inpection station when you crossed into AZ?
Did anyone else notice that in the Wet pavement non-ABS test that the driver actually turned the steering wheel to the right when the the truck started to skid around. Watch his hands and head as the truck starts to skid. You can see him lean to the right and crank the wheel. If he would have...
The emergency brake in my 5-ton is quite good, but I never tried using it with any speed. I'm glad I read this because I use it on some steep hills. I'm usually in a low gear, but I didn't realize these were a "one leak and you are screwed" system. I think I'll look closely at the flex lines!
I would probably have it shipped but I am working. Taking the time off wouldn't end up saving much if any. If you are just doing it for fun, be sure to opt for the road-side assistance and towing coverage when you get your insureance.
Just bought an M817. It starts very hard, won't idle very long and surges a lot. Also when I let off the throttle to shift it stays reved up for a few seconds. Does this seem like an air leak as well? What is the best way to "apply slight air pressure to the tanks" Do I connect and air hose to...
"Like 73m819 said. DONT roll forward while in reverse, or roll backward while in neutral or a forward gear. There is a modification to vent the air pressure going to the actuator that would remove this concern. The modification is here somewhere on SS."
What happens if you do this? I may have...
I noticed that you brought "collector plates" from your M35. Are these the license plates? and what is the purpose of bringing them? Just curious since I need to recover a truck pretty soon.
