91W350 and myself looked at them. There were nices ones that cosmecticly didnt look so hot but were in good shape. I would have bought a few but I dont have the cash for anything right now.
next time borrow or if you have a digi thermometer use it to check diff in temps on the brakes, would have shown you that side and caliper was the area to check, now as far as the bridge it wouldn't have given you that info. Glad you found it.
I was refering the the axle the was installed on mikeroots truck. The Dana 61 is not a custom axle but his is a custom built axle as I was corrected. Bottom line was I was wrong its not a problem I learn daily many many things.
I never stated that this axle was not custom, not once in my post was that mentioned. I simply was telling rnd motorsports there is such a axle as a dan 61 front. SOrry i bunched up your undies. I have built custom portals and many axles myself, I never once said it was a cobble job either. I...
I didnt use google, I am a member of the pirate BB, and I was sure it was a 61(I have built alot of dodge diesel with the Dana 61) I was simply giving rnd motorsports some info to read. Love the build
Dana 61 is not a custom axle thou like mikeroot said it takes some hardware mods to make work. The dana 61 is a true front axle theres ton's of them in dodge trucks. And Ford used them in the rear of vans.
Quote from pirate 4x4 for info on a Dana 61
What's the deal with the Dana 61?

great lift, I see you plan on 52's on the front you'll love them, and then you can really flex it out. Unless you really want to go crazy and run ford 57's in the front I loved mine till one day in jellico I ended up with a S shaped spring, thats the day I decided to go to rockwells and coil...
NP with the info, I seem to be on my gear ratio caculator daily anyways. I love the idea your kicking around, I personally if I ever get a m1008 will be using a nv4500 but to each thier own.
Lol if I had a nickle for every set of axles I have robbed from a m1008 Id be rich. Wait if I didnt have 3 ex's id be rich cause i made more than a nickle. But never did I swap 1/2 running gear into one, I can see why someone would, but the trucks I stole axles from were more or less trashed...
http://www.steelsoldiers.com/cucv/53586-m1009-electrical.html third post i think with pictures shows other 12v areas to tap into. If you have a 24v cig lighter it was installed later and someone did it wrong by either going off the back battery, or something like that. I am not possitive but...
Coolant is all it is like what was said before, I also like to pull the small pipe plug ont he bottom of the block before I pull out old heater or freeze plug and let it drain its coolant from both there and the radiator. Sometimes when you pull the plug nothing will come out but a small drip...
on left side of fuse box theres two 12v ing key sorces for power far left near the hazard flasher. Ground goes to a bare metal part of the truck. And 12v BAT or constant wire needs a 12v constant source with run a wire from one battery or I am trying to remember where the 12v constant tap in...
