FLU419 SEE HMMH HME Owners group

If this is the flat spike piece you speak of, it looks like the plastic hand-guard on yours is broken. Part number 07473(check the Flu manual to verify) is available for a reasonable price online. I do really like the chainsaw. It is powerful, light, and quiet. Also the oiling is pretty simple...

FLU419 SEE HMMH HME Owners group

If you have a CS06120M, it came with a 3/8” pitch chain of 59 links. Since the military model was apparently a short production run, it is possible some may be equipped with a CS06 which is 0.325” pitch and 64 links. If you have a CS06, you can convert it to 3/8 with an Oregon 18720 sprocket...

FLU, no clutch disengagement, and unrelated, no air pressure

If you are not building air pressure, you are looking for a large leak, not a pinhole. Snoop, if it is what I think it is, is applied to the outside and bubbles when exposed to a leak. Like water and dish-soap, but better. It sounds like you are looking for a leak between the compressor and the...

FLU, no clutch disengagement, and unrelated, no air pressure

I think you should invest in a new master and slave cylinder. They are relatively cheap. For the air compressor, disconnect the hose right at the outlet and check it. If you still have very low pressure check the read valves.

FLU, no clutch disengagement, and unrelated, no air pressure

While you push on the clutch, have soldier B look underneath and see if the slave cylinder is moving. It should be pretty clear.Off the top of my head the slave cylinder should move about 3/4 of an inch. As to the low air pressure, I would start disconnecting lines as far forward as possible...

    Replacing Starter Solenoid on FLU419

FWIW, I was able to find some flange nuts with a reduced head diameter that made it much easier to get a socket on them to tighten things back up. I forget if they were in my stash, or Belmetric.

    Replacing Starter Solenoid on FLU419

I have replaced one starter on mine and it was not hard to do through the engine cover. I think there is enough room to get the solenoid off if you can get access to the fasteners. Personally I would go ahead and pull it to check the condition of the gear and lube the bendix. The local starter...

FLU419 SEE HMMH HME Owners group

I didn’t realize we had an expert. Since you are blessing us with knowledge, can you share the pitch and number of links we need? The issue is not getting the parts. The issue is assuming that all FLU chainsaws are the same. As I found out, not all of them are 3/8” pitch. Check before ordering.

FLU419 SEE HMMH HME Owners group

I have 2 of the Stanley chainsaws, one came with my FLU, and one was bought from a forum member. Both green and having the FLU hydraulic quick connects. Based on this forum and looking at the saw on my FLU, I bought a 3/8 pitch 24” bar and chain intending to put the longer bar on my spare saw...

Using my SEE for real work

There is currently a 1 week wait for a “clean fill” dumpster, so I used the FLU bucket to catch and relocate 4 tons of brick from my 2nd floor. The bucket only fit 31 five gallon buckets, so 8 Flu bucketfuls was 248 five gallon buckets filled and dumped by hand. Even with the added “flotation”...

    My Turn for Shifter Bushings

I recently let a 55yr old friend drive my FLU a week after I let a 16 yr old drive. The 16 yr old was quite ginger and treated the shifter kindly, perhaps not knowing any better. The older fellow was quite harsh with the shifter, yanking it around and really forcing it into gear. This is not...

Using my SEE for real work

Hardly work, but helping a youngster learning to drive. He wanted to learn how to drive a stick and the Toyota 2ZZ-GE stalls too easy, causing frustration or too many revs and burning the clutch. A newbie can learn a unimog clutch pretty easily. Then I got out the orange cones to practice...

    FLU419 Leaking Water in Cab

I get a lot of water in the Driver side footwell during rain as well. I always assume it was coming in through the door seal because I would occasionally spot water on the side of the door. However I got the garage to store it in before I completed troubleshooting. based on the volume of...

    New with a couple questions,

Not really. The switch is electric, but it triggers a solenoid to increase idle speed with a pneumatic cylinder. But you said that part was working.
  17. Speedwoble

    New with a couple questions,

If the front loader works, the power tool circuit works and you need to troubleshoot the wiring between the switch and the solenoid behind the cab. The fuse is good and you are getting power to the switch if activating the switch causes engine RPM to bump up. Pull off the terminals on the...

    New with a couple questions,

The PTO does not operate the hydraulic tools. Does the front end loader work?
  19. Speedwoble

    New with a couple questions,

Those are 2 separate circuits you are talking about. The power tools run off of the belt driven pump below the engine. I assume the loader works? If the loader works, then you need to check the electric wires between the switch on the side and the valve block behind the cab. Regards the backhoe...

my flu419 will not move in any gear

Neither of you are giving a lot of detail. Does the shifter feel like it is getting into detents? Does it stall when you let out on the clutch, or does the motor spin as if there is no load? Can you engage the PTO and use the backhoe(if so, the clutch is working). There have been cases where the...
