Just got back from another big fire. Many departments from 2 counties came to help us. Thankfully we were able to save several houses. I heard that one sustained some damage. We also had some big help from the man upstairs when a small storm moved through and it flipped the wind direction...
Welcome to Steel Soldiers! Now there is no turning back. Before you know it you will have your "first" MV.
This is a great site to learn all about these vehicles.

Definitely a small world! I was out on the Allen fire. We have sure had some big fires lately.
One of the Allen guys is on here too (AllenEM).

Welcome to Steel Soldiers! Glad to see another local FF here. Nice looking truck. I don't think many people would believe how little money we get to try to run these volunteer departments in Oklahoma. Our department even missed out on the new brush trucks a couple of years ago so we are...
I'm curious how the specs on your 24v to 12v converter compares to the inexpensive one referenced earlier? As you know, on a volunteer department with very limited funds, $37 sounds a lot better that $240.

Another option, if you had multiple simultaneous small loads, would be to balance them between the 2 batteries. Obviously this would require a separate ground for the items on one of the batteries. We have been running the radio, emergency lights, and siren off of just one battery on our fire...
I have also been searching and found a little more info:
Here is a cross reference for serpentine belts:

Here is the part info listed on Erik's Military:
"Belt for M35A3 (CAT 3116 engine) used to drive the fan and alternator. p/n...
I found this on TNJ Murry for the v-belt and then found a cross reference that gives the dimensions. Hope this helps.

Would the info from this thread help?

Here is a thread from another Oklahoma SS member (mikew) who added LED lights to the stock gauges in a bobbed deuce he built. I actually got to see this truck in person and it was really nice! The craftsmanship and attention to detail were just incredible...
I think that one (or more) of each would be the best option:mrgreen: Personally I like the A2 better just for its simplicity and parts availability. For the difference in price you could put together a really nice A2 and even add air assist steering if that was important. In my opinion the...
Not exactly what you are asking for, but when we got our fire department's M35A3 from Forestry it had a sticker on it showing that it had come back from Kuwait. I took a picture of the sticker before we painted the truck red. You can also see the bumper numbers in one of these pictures.
I believe that hose is just to route the air exhaust or maybe water drainage from the control valve. The Y fitting at the bottom is called "TEE-Y,DRAINAGE PIPE" and the hose is called "HOSE,AIR DUCT". This hose was split on our Fire Department's A3 when we got it but the steering has worked...
I came up with a cheap way to fix the horn button in my deuce. The groove in the rubber adapter that the retaining ring fits in had worn to the point that the ring would not hold the button in. Someday when I get a new 5 ton size steering wheel I will get a new horn button kit but for now this...
As someone else mentioned, if you are not running high amperage 12 volt items you can simply tap off of one battery for the 12 volts. Our fire department's old m35a2 ran the radio, lights, and siren this way for many years without problems. I wired our new m35a3 the same way last year. There...
Here is another option. I wanted to leave all of the 24v lighting stock to work with my deuce but I also wanted to be able to pull the trailer with my F350 so I just added a set of 12v lights with separate wiring. Here is the thread on it...
