For the 4th year in a row, my daughter and I took the deuce to bring home the family Christmas tree. This was our first after dark recovery and the first chance I have had to try out the new LED headlights (they work great). Kids grow up too fast so I really cherish these wonderful times and...
Yes, the splines on the steering column are the same for the A2 and A3. They are also the same on the 809 series 5 tons.
Here is a link to the vendor my wife bought mine from:

I changed my steering wheel to the smaller 18" type used on the M35A3 trucks and I am very happy with it. There really is not that much difference in steering effort and you get a little more room.
Here is the thread on my swap...
I think everyone understands that we all have busy lives and schedules don't always cooperate with our hobby.
Warthog has signed up the group for the Edmond Parade of Lights on December 7th. Unfortunately I will be out of town that weekend.
Here is the link to the posting about the...
Just a week away. So, are none of the other Oklahoma Convoy group able to make this parade? If I'm the only one I guess I will have to bow out as well. Not much fun to drive 75 miles and then just turn around and drive 75 miles home if no one else is going to be there. :(
If anyone is able...
The 600 gallon fuel pods that we have are baffled but yes they do make the truck top heavy. The truck handles much better with just one.
Where did you get your poly tanks and how many gallons are they? Those are nice looking trucks you have.
Your truck is looking good!
My department's A3 went on a wildland fire as a brush truck for the first time last week and did great. Our old A2 and our current A3 were originally setup as tankers with two 600 gallon tanks but that was just too much weight especially for the A3...
My switch is on the positive side. Since I installed it I have read discussions making the case that breaking the negative connection is preferable but I have not had any issues with mine and have not taken the time to change it. FYI: I have used a marine type (Perko) dual battery...
Here is a post on the lockable Flaming River switch I installed on my deuce. I have been very happy with this switch. At 250 amps continuous and 2500 amps for 5 seconds it should be able to handle just about anything these trucks can throw at it...
M35A3 Brush Trucks
Two M35A3 Brush trucks in action on a wildland fire today. Three other departments came to help and one brought their A3 brush truck. This is the first wildland fire that our A3 has been on and it did great.
For those that have not seen one, here is a link to the panel interlock kit that I was planning on using. This is much cheaper than a transfer switch but I would love to know where I could find a $20 interlock kit.

Here are a few of links related to this problem.
gringeltaube has some great information on the spring seat bushings.
"It is very easy to check the condition of the pivots: just jack it up in the center of the spring seat axle until springs are totally decompressed and can move freely, that...
