Here is what a 33" looks like on stock suspension.
BFG AT T/A 33X12.50-15
Not much room here, in fact they needed trimming on the rear of the front fender wells.
See this page for more shots...
I just put a set of 33x12.50-15 BFG AT T/As on my 1009.
No lift yet.
I had some rubbing on the passenger side, so 5 minutes with an angle grinder with a cut off wheel and no more rubbing.
However it is still very close. I had planned on a 2.5 inch lift, and will do that early next year...
Mine will support a rack, two jerry cans (full), a full size spare, and me (190lbs).
Its spread over 4 feet. Not measurement but four mount points.
Im sure its all about load distribution.
Good luck.
I get to see this collection all the time. Hes right down the street from me, and his stuff is awesome. Also lots of warbirds on the same property. Occasionally he puts old CUCVs & Jeeps along the fence for sale. Bitchen stuff.
It has hardened quite a bit. Can’t dent it with a thumbnail.
I have been pretty hard on the liner this last year, but no blemishes yet.
So gratifying to just hose out the truck after hunting.
Great investment especially for the price. I’m very happy with the Al’s Liner.
Hey Chuck,
I looked at yours before I found this box at the surplus store.
I was going to do that exact thing after seeing your setup.
Tuffy was just too pricey after seeing the deal on the Sugpump box.
Dig the stereo setup though.
Cool! Hopefully it works out for you.
Some suggested motor oil to lubricate the rubber, but it was raining when I replaced mine. Water worked fine (it was already wet). The weather seal on the back of mine was fine, so once it dried (inside the gate) it was real secure.
Let us know if its...
Got mine off Craigs list.
Try searching safari rack.
There are some fabricators locally and even some used.
Have fun, but take your time. There is plenty of great ideas on SS.
Cheers.
My hunting buddie has a red m1009 (ex fire) and has a dent in the same spot.
He thinks its from someone sitting on the top of the cab.
Must be fairly common.
Thanks for the idea on the puller. Harbor freight is lass than 10 minutes away.
