    Sprag unit

Thanks Gringeltaube. A bit lighter and smaller but would require cannibalizing an old one I suppose. I appreciate your clarification. I hope it works out for Don G

Head gasket repair walk through - go to post #31!

Was finally able to get a hold of tech at ARP. Got price quotes on individual studs per Rusty Studs part numbers. About $475 for all including washers and nuts. without tax and shipping. Downside is they said it will take 3 to 4 weeks to ship them. pretty much the best price I could find...

    Sprag unit

I have one I took out when I converted mine to air. Shipping might be a bit pricey. Already crated though--in the crate that came with the air version. pretty secure crate and hold downs inside. I would imagine others have them available as well. perhaps someone closer to you. Boyce in Salt...

Head gasket repair walk through - go to post #31!

follow up--searching for head studs by manufacturer and part number is challenging me to say the least. I may need to retract part of my statement. some of the part numbers for head studs are come up active but still no details on TPI so I can be sure they will fit the deck properly. more to...

Head gasket repair walk through - go to post #31!

I tried those numbers at the ARP website as well as numerous searches. no luck. I have called and sent emails to ARP as well still no luck. Has anyone got some direct experience with ARP head studs for the multifuel that they would be able to share? such as TPI, nut size, washer, torqueing...

Head gasket repair walk through - go to post #31!

I am nearing completion of my head job. for some reason that just reminded me of a job I had in a poster/incense store in 1966. these are things that may not have been mentioned in some of the posts or I found confusing---I apologize in advance If I am preachy or otherwise obnoxious/ boring...

2 wheel vs 4 wheel steering

fwiw-i think they are similar to a farm tractor in that it has no suspension other than the air in the tires. a little worse actually at least a tractors front wheels can pivot which helps a lot in turning in a plowed field with deep ruts. so in off roading if one or two wheels leave the ground...

Getting the deuce road worthy....it begins!

Welcome to the wonderful adventure that is a deuce. Its a love affair and a train wreck all at the same time. Mine always puts a smile on my face even while she is challenging my sanity. Best wishes for a happy holiday and your deuce adventure.

Mulemac01 M275 2 1/2 ton Gas truck tractor ON-GOING restoration and rebuild tread.

I have a 1968 Kaiser Jeep M275 that sometime around 1986 was converted to a diesel LTD 465 1-d. It may have interim work but I suspect it was a gasser previously due to some of the acetylene torch work in cutting exhaust holes in fender and similar things. Anyway, no winch and it has the low...

Mulemac01 M275 2 1/2 ton Gas truck tractor ON-GOING restoration and rebuild tread.

You are doing a fantastic job. I wish you well in the job search and continued tenacity and skill in this project. You have inspired me to continue in work on my own later year Diesel M275 project.

Historical Interest: Lawsuit between Allis Chalmers and Continental over injection pump trade secrets

Thanks for a very interesting read. Many subtle and some dramatic twists and turns along the way. You would not think the humble deuce would have been involved in such intrigue over its engine. It also seems a lot more could have come from Continental and A-C in this area given time and research.

    M116A3 Jack Leg repair

What are you doing to protect your truck from the Coronavirus ?

I wrapped an old pair of fatigue pants around the air intake screen and made a panic run to the store and cleared out all the toilet paper I could find. she is such a brave girl.

    New member from Colorado

I noticed that the placard on the vehicle indicates : DOL/ETA contractor". that translates to Department of Labor/Employment and Training Adminsitration. As a training vehicle its purpose could have been training for a variety of pumping and transportation of liquids. Sewage, clear,black,brown...

Welcome from just up the road in Livermore. Definitely looks like a refueling rig. Perhaps aircraft/helicopters. Is there a reel for a ground wire with a big alligator clip on it? If not fuel perhaps some sort of chemical perhaps?

Colorado Bill SB19-054 RE: (Former) Military Vehicle Motor Vehicle Regulation

Rodent, when you got your title did it indicate it was ex military? if it was a cucv it might describe it as only a Chevrolet of a given year. Check and let us know because I thought the five year collector plates were just for civilian vehicles of the so called antique or horseless carriage...
