    pioneer rack for m1009

The M1009 is the only truck in the CUCV series authorized pioneer tools according to TM9-2320-289-10, although there is no provision nor stowage instructions in the manual for a pioneer rack to be mounted. I never saw one attached to any of the CUCVs I saw in the service. A couple of...

tanks , tanks and more tanks oct 24-25

This is where he put his handprint! I'm up by the tip of the little finger. We don't have to put it on our license plates to know it! ;-)

    Cargo Cover

TM 9-2320-218-10 only gives written instructions, same as given above. This photo is from John Zentmyer's "TM9-1840C The Production Story" Doesn't show much except the angles of the ropes.

    GL wants my Deuce back

I just spent the better part of an hour reading this thread from post #1. I want to sincerely thank Chief_919 for being willing to go the extra mile to help a fellow SS member and get him the information he needed. Although some of those original responses regarding illegal/improper actions...

Anybody mount a snow plow on their deuce?

Okay, I have to bite---why are you waitiing for "next summer" to put a plow on the deuce? Won't that be, like, 6 months late? LOLOLOLOLOL Most of the snow blower mounts I've seen (2 to be exact) mounted on M211-series trucks had a separate engine mounted in the bed of the truck to run the...

    We need an MRAP category

Do we still have an OSHKOSH rep on SS? I'd love to get some of their promo DVDs to show at MV events--- a 16 square GP tent, a generator, big screen tv, and a popcorn maker---fun times.:-D Based on the MTVR chassis-those basic 7-ton trucks make the 900 series 5 tons look small.!:!:

    New V-100

Must be kinda freaky for the driver buttoned up like that, the bow wave right at eye level. But better that than having the wave come over the top and into your lap, I guess.

    INFO ON Deuce tractor

That's what is on the Data Plate of the one I eventually bought (and, sadly, sold). The M275 with the short wheelbase is a ball to drive. Nice, tight turns, tucks under the trailer nicely, and, I think, gives more control over the trailer especially when backing. With the longer frame, it...

    New V-100

Here's one of a V150-s, again from the 1981 brochure, and a pic from Soldiers Magazine showing the safety ropes attached to all four corners of a Dragoon during platform testing at Ft. Knox. It makes it easier to find the vehicle if it hits the bottom, I guess.

    New V-100

I'd love to see the video! Here's a pic from the 1981 Ex-Cell-O Corporation sales brochure for the V-150.

Members please post some fall pics

These were taken in Boyne City/Wolverine Michigan area last week on a civvy Color Tour with the Trolls 4wd club. The ones I have from the MV ride at Camp Grayling the week before don't show a lot of color. Unless you're looking for green. To quote our event coordinator one time---"Green IS a...

Camp Grayling Annual Fall Color Tour 9/25-9/27

Here are a few on the "small truck" runs. The ones with the "mosque" are from a new training area replicating an Iraqi/Afghan village market. The line-up is at the fuel point. The trailer pics are of a 1945 all-aluminum trailer built by Higgins Industries of Higgins landing craft fame.

    Deuce Seating Capacity

TB 9-639 gives the "official" seating capacity. A lot of our Michigan Army Guard trucks had a 3rd seatbelt in the cab already.

    GMC Model AFKX-352

Definitely a rare and exciting vehicle! :-D If'n i'twere me, I'd be looking at offering a newer, larger school bus or some such as a replacement PLUS help him look for Ford parts at swap meets etc PLUS some cash if he wouldn't be insulted. Check the numbers, and I'll bet production of that GMC...

What the Heck is it??? Look at this!!!!

Found this on JeepTruck.com for sale ads- listed as a 1948 FlatNose. Except it's got a WO logo on the tailgate for Willys Overland. Looks pretty close except for the open cab, the b.o. lights on the fenders, the storage boxes, and the extra reinforcement/rivets/bolt heads all over.
