Put the camo netting on the back this afternoon. Going to run it that way over the summer.

I painted mine in front of my shop...on the dirt, less than 5 mph breeze that day, very little dust in it and besides that, who cares, you aren't going for a "show quality" paint job. First time in the weeds and it's gonna be scratched up anyway.

My thinking would be that that is not going to work well and I'm not understanding why you would want to do that anyway. If you are using house paint and want a shiny look to it, use semi-gloss or even gloss. If you are thinking there is a need for the clear coat for protection like on your civi...

Okay, I FINALLY had the time on a day of good weather and painted my M1009 this morning. I think it turned out pretty decent and it was a blast (and a lot of hours in prep work). I used Behr flat latex in Olive Drab with just a little tan thrown in. It will get stars on the hood and doors...

Well, you will get back what you put into it. Even if it isn't peeling anywhere else, at the very least, you need to go over the entire body with sandpaper (not wet/dry). Something like 220 to "scuff" it. You could paint it without doing anything and it might look good right then, but it...

Yeah, I even tried a "plumbers friend" suction cup...it would move the metal but not enough to get it to "pop" back out. I still had to use a fair amount of filler in that area after massaging it back into place.

The biggest part of the "forklift dent" will push back out. Just take your door panel off, reach in and start pushing.

My opinion would be that "yes, you will need to sand down the entire body", unless you want it to peel again. Think of it this way...if the clear is peeling in some places, it will eventually peel everywhere...it all came out of the same can and it's all exposed to the same elements. If you cut...

So, if you make a "dual" pistol holder, what are your plans for securing them when not in the truck? If you carry, one is normally sufficient and I sure wouldn't leave one sitting there in the open, even if it is locked down somehow. Just curious as to what your plans are.
