I'm 83 and in no hurry to tear it down again but I will ck the crank end play if I do. I always ck the oil seal size because people do make mistakes. Rustystud, Cam plug was not leaking. Even if an oil passage plug was leaking, how could the oil get into the bell housing? This is not a tranny...
I bought my 1970 M35 in 2002 with 29000 on the speedo.
In 2006 I replalced rear main oil seal at 36000 miles.
In 2017 it went from leaking a few drops to a major leak in one day, I couldn't beleive it, when I stopped the engine it drained out of the bell housing vent in a stream, not drops.
So...
I had the same problem with a set of non military shoes. After a couple days of trying to figure what was wrong I simply welded a spacer on each shoe so it would make contact with the cam adjuster. It worked fine, I figured I just had a bad set of brake shoes.
Thanks guys, I have found one. Boyce didn't have one so I called an old parts dealer in Florida, he didn't have one but he got on the phone and found me one. Its on the way.
I am looking for a gear with the number 10914637 for a Spicer3053A trans. Although the manual calls it the 4th gear, I am sure it is the over drive gear. This is for a M35A2 multi fuel. I am having trouble finding one.
I was having the same problem. I finally bypassed the harness and ran a wire directly from the sending unit to the gage. Bingo...problem solved. As Rosco suggested, the wire in the harness was grounding out someplace.
At 39000 on the overhaul my rear head gasget started leaking antifreeze. None in the oil but a lot on the firewall. I replaced it with the old style head gasget for the simple reason I didn't know there was an improved model. The engine was running fine so I didn't touch the valves, and I...
Yes, I bolted a 3/8 inch thick extension plate an extra 9 inches long on one end, set a 9 inch piece of I beam on it and welded it all together. I put a spacer plate on the olther end and was good to go.
Nobody has mentioned the obvious, get rid of the air leaks and you will very seldom have to listen to the buzzer. My truck can set for 2 or 3 days and still have over 60 psi so no buzzer. After setting a couple of weeks it will still have 30 psi. so when I start it the buzzer isn't on very long.
From day one my gage would read 35 psi without the engine running. After start up it would read max on the 60 lb. gage. I tested with a mechanical gage and had the proper oil pressure, so I just ignored the gage problem. After 10 years the gage started to go to max reading when turning the...
This reminds me of a going away party for my nephew. He is a Marine being deployed overseas. I took the deuce, everyone liked it. The nephew asked me if he could drive it, I asked him if he had ever drove one and he said sure, lots of times. We gets in the truck and he looks at me and says, "...
This picture was taken in 1970. The person in the picture told me they were on a beer run. I painted my truck exactly like this one. He helped me to get the correct markings on the bumpers, which you cannot see in this picture.
I rebuilt mine but you have to have a lathe. The bearings and shaft was worn so bad that the armature was hitting the field coils. I refinished the shaft, made special bearings and was good to go. That was 10 years ago and it is still working. There are access holes so you can oil each bearing...
