I run new Firestone NDs 11.00x20s as a single wheel setup  . They work excellent so far! Kinda pricey though, but cheaper than any other 44" tire at $250 each :p . Looks awesome too :scool: .
I would believe your low mileage will be a benefit to the Gov Loc. You'll probably never have a problem with it. I would say higher mileage and hard use is when the Gov Loc can become a problem.
The Gov Loc GM rear axle has had some bad reputation. Gov Loc is another design in the "locking rear differential" world. My experience with the Gov Loc rear has been "bad". I've had trouble with reliability and breakdown. The Gov Locs "did work", before they eventually broke.<img...
M1075, you state "I have another set I need to part with if you get interested." Is the "set" of tires or rims? What sizes? I am trying to decide on a wheel and tire combo and I am browsing the options.
I just came across a rear axle from Ouverson Engineering for $163.38 from alloy stock! It has double splines and uses a front stock hub! Not a bad price? www.ouversonengineering.com/inc/pdetail?v=1&pid=24

I'm in Berwick,Pennsylvania. The great North East? Where's the snow!! I think I'm gonna move out west where the snow is! The rain isn't as much fun as the snow! What's with this...
Possibly different axle gearing than the trans was originally mated to? Speedo gearing is matched to axle ratio. If different trans or axles, may cause higher or lower speedo readings? ie; 4.56 ratio axles in originally 3.08 ratio truck, trans from 3.08 truck put into 4.56 truck. Speedo thinks...
Spicegear, you're not that far from me in Camp Hill. I have customers in Mechanicsburg so I get down in that area occasionally. These tires work well, no complaints. How well do those radials work? I'm in the market for XL14.00x20s for this 91GMC, now. Must go BIGGER!<img...
I have a friend that works in a tire store and he is the big truck tire changer. I've watched him change slit rims with big tires quickly with no cage. He has been doing it for a few years. He is a small guy. Probably 5'-7" and 115#! He is not a muscular guy. He does know his job though! He is...
Here in PA I have a State Farm Commercial policy for less than $400 a year, for my duece. My 86 Subaru with comp. is just over $400 a year on my Business policy.
A new "stupid" PA law is for certain counties to have, as part of the Annual Safety Inspection, a test of the gas cap! In part the entire state has in force an "Emission tampering inspection" inclusive with the State Inspection. If any...
I have a brand new set of these hubs with $175.00 written on them. They came with my duece's extra parts, I wouldn't pay that much for them! I don't know the story about this type of hub but another member here states he has 5-dueces with this style hub? My duece has a standard style hub. I...
