    M818 Transmission breather leaking air

Hello! I searched the threads and did not find a thread with this particular issue. I recently acquired a running m818 with title for a fair deal. Once I got it home, I took it for a spin on my field. A few things I noticed right away. 1. There is a constant air leak coming from the...

Here she is! A little rough but a good start. Engine is blown and tranny is sketchy. Will decide what to do with it once I finish some projects around here. Finally not sick anymore!

    Got my m246a1 (reaper) home!

Had a little fun the other day. A guy traded me a truck and was needing some help to hook up his tow bar to the one I traded him. Helped with some loading too.

M246 in the busted hydraulic hose club

I have been looking and think I am going toeventually replace all of the metal lines located in the crane cab with rubber hose and reusable fittings. I have found several suppliers but want to make sure I get something that will last. The steel line that busted was the hoist control line so I...

    Got my m246a1 (reaper) home!

They loved it! I let the youngest get in the crane with me. Was getting ready to get my girl in there and one of the hydraulic lines inside the cab started leaking. Tearing into it tonight, hopefully have it fixed by this weekend.

That’s what I believe I will do too. Any idea on what size/style the fittings are for each end?

M246 in the busted hydraulic hose club

So I may need some assistance. Today, I noticed my crane had frothy hydraulic fluid leaking from inside my crane basket. What looks to be one of the steel lines inside the crane cab, is leaking by the seat. I’ve read a few threads but wanted to ask for a down and dirty response. 1. What is...

    Got my m246a1 (reaper) home!

It should be illegal to have this much fun! However, I did discover that I have a few hydraulic leaks at some of the fittings on the crane . I ran it for a test today (moved a deuce frame). It did fine but leaked frothy white fluid. I figure she’s getting air in the system. I also moved a...

I plan to get many more photos of what they did, someone more experienced and knowledgeable will probably be able to answer that better than me.

    Got my m246a1 (reaper) home!

Yes indeed. I am going to try and find out some more details. What I was told was that the m246 was used as a yard crane for Band Surplus in NY. The guy I bought it from said they swapped in 936 axles with airbrakes, new style power steering, replaced the transfer case and transmission with...
