    M246 Project resurrection

You are correct, I went through the TM for power plant removal (in the cards for me) and it is said that the rotochamber only was equipped on the m62 for that series.

    M246 Project resurrection

I had read that all of them had it. I am going to reread the TM and see if maybe I am getting forum and TM information confused.

    M246 Project resurrection

I finally found the rotochamber thread. It looks like a type 9 brake chamber with the single bolt hanger will work for the rotochamber. I looked at NAPA but could only find the double bolt style. Anyone have a good source or link for one?

    M246 Project resurrection

Thanks so much! Yeah I had noticed the siren too, was pleasantly surprised! The pages will help a lot. It will be a little while before I start really tearing in. I bought a m62a1 some time ago and haven’t gotten it home yet. It runs and works so it will be my main moving horse.

    M246 Project resurrection

Here are the results from today’s pictures: I was very pleased to find the transmission tunnel covers in the cab. However, from the photos you can see it is missing some items. I do have the transmission mounts it appears as well. The crane controls are frozen at the moment. The motor...

    M246 Project resurrection

I looked over the drivetrain area and had a question, will the clutch, transmission, jack shaft and drive shafts from other 5 ton wreckers work? Can any of these parts come from other 5 tons? I know the transmission is common but the wrecker has a front winch so the pto would be needed. I...

That’s good to know for sure. I plan on using this one to move around logs for our log home we are planning to build.

    M246 Project resurrection

Long time lurker, I recently had a m246 carcass drug home the woods. It is mostly complete but it missing some very important parts. From what I can tell, it is missing the transmission (6352) it’s a gasser, the front drive shaft, and driveshaft between the transmission and transfer case as...

    Won my first award

I have had “Jabba” ( we are Star Wars fans) for almost a month now. My wife works quality in the auto factory that makes all of the Ford F-150 grills. They were having a car show to support the special olympics and I was asked to enter in my “field fresh” truck so I did. Long story short, I...

The copper tube appears to run toward the air tanks in the rear. You are right on cleaning everything. I also have considered putting new wire into several places because the sheath is cracked and coming apart. In another thread, I wrote about how my horn went off on me after replacing the...

    Loud noise!

So I figured out what the culprit was. As some of you suggested, the wire to the horn had actually broken. It appears that in my messing around I managed to get it to short. I unhooked both wires and that solved the issue.

    Loud noise!

No it’s definitely not the low pressure alarm, it was working as well. This sounded like it was coming from near the center front of the cab. It was so loud that I could not pin point the location. I am going to look at it again this morning.

    Loud noise!

So I drained my air tanks free running my 1970 m35a2. After draining the tanks, I also replaced the light switch and discovered that the wires were broke right before the flasher Relay. After putting it back together, I started up the truck and after 20 seconds or so, it started howling super...

More pics: I have also posted the link for the video. I have a lot of work to do but, it is something that I have wanted to do for a long time. If you see anything in the video that I need to address immediately, please let me know. I teach and am a minister so time isn't always on my side...
