    CUCV Electric Explained

Thanks for the post John. I just placed my first order with you about a week ago and felt like I struck a gold mine when I found your site. I am sorry to hear things are the way they are. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

    More fuel line questions

It's actually an '86 but my understanding is they are all built to '84 specs for the military. My brother, dad and I pretty much had to straighten them out a little bit then re-bend them to snake around the intake manifold. We were careful not to crimp any of them and when you lined them up with...

    More fuel line questions

In case anybody else runs into this problem the gm part number is 15633212. Found it on eBay for the '85+ models. They do not fit the 84 models real well without some bending by hand.

    m1009 rear drum removal

I just tapped mine around the circumference of the outside edge of the drum with a dead low hammer. Don't know if there is a better way but it worked on mine. Also make sure your parking brake is off.

    More fuel line questions

So I did a search and did not find what I was looking for. My hard lines, that run from the back of the IP to the cylinders, are leaking from the fittings on the back of the IP. I checked the nuts and they are all tight, some of them felt to tight when I tried to loosen them. I am wondering if...

    Electrical Gremlin

Sorry it took me a while to reply. That was the problem. The wire was disconnected from the grounding port and was lying on the floorboard under the mat. Still confused as to why some of the lights were working and the others were not. But all is well know thanks again guys.

    Electrical Gremlin

So... my gen 1 light is out , fuel gauge is not working, highbeam indicator is stuck on, and my instrument lights go out when I turn tthe ignition to run. Checked all of the fuses in the cab, all are good. Pulled dash apart, again unable to locate any loose wires or bare wires being grounded...

Short in Horn system and request for help windshield washer pump

I tried cleaning the pump out with my washer pump, but it did not do anything. I ended up buying a universal pump and mounting it in between the reservoir and wiper assembly. Here is a link to the one I purchased. LMC Truck also has this universal one.

    Buying a M1008

Keep in mind if he is going to add larger tires on the vehicle it will also drop the RPM's a little bit. If he wants my 10 bolts from my M1009 I will gladly trade you for the dana 60 and 14 bolt rear:mrgreen: Joking of course, you would not want a 10 bolt in the M1008.

    Corporate 14 for M1009

Thanks all for the help, I greatly appreciate it. Bad news is it took too long to get the ok from the boss so I missed out on the 14 bolt. It was from a 3/4 ton. I think I have a lead on another one though, wish me luck. Bigred05, that is a phenomenal write up, add that one to the bookmarks for...

best choice for replacement shocks for m1009

I had some Monroes on a sedan i had, they were nothing to write home about in my opinion. I have had great luck with the Rancho 5000 shocks I run them on my 02 Silverado and they work great on and off road. The part number for the M1009 Rancho 5000 series shocks are RS5118 and RS5151 from what I...

    Front wheel hop while braking?

We had the same problem on one of our vehicles at work, the maintenance guys would not believe it was a wrapped rotor until they changed everything else and it did not fix the problems. I would be willing to bet that is what your problem is.

    Gauge issues

Warthog, thank you so much Sir. It was the #15 and the #12 fuses. They both looked alright and checked out fine with my fuse tester, but I changed the #15 fuse and the voltage gauge came to life. Looked at the schematic for the fuses and tried changing the #12 fuse, everything else came on...
