My CUCV [ 1028A1] is marked ILNG9N ...I understand the Illinois National Guard part , but what the heck is 9N ?? [Besides a tired old Ford tractor]....
I had the best luck with New Castle batteries..Sold them when I had my repair shop..Had 0 returns in 5 years of handling them..Not so with Interstate or Crown.. Then they quit selling them in Ohio...Even Sidley Mack sold them..One tough battery.....
I'v replaced 'bout everything so far..My only gripe now is poor heater output..It's got a new core in it , new thermostat, checked heater door operation..Still pee water warm air coming from vents..
I got my M-1028A-1 With 2800 miles on it..Driveshaft was replaced before I bought it.Body sides and door were caved in
Hood was walked on and broke loose underneath..Last but not least, someone plopped their fat arse on the roof of the cab
and caved it in too...The people that do this carnage...
I've wondered..... How do we go about insuring that "Bobbed" Deuce..Is it considered a deuce or a pick-up truck ?? I know I
had problems insuring a F-600 without going with a commercial policy..I know there's a fine line trying to escape big
premiums..Plus , many insurers won't do commercial...
Slightly more ?????? How about 200 bucks more...And I've got an account at one of the local shops.. Others in the area , I wouldn't bother with.....I was able to thank Fred via internet.. He will get any further pump repairs from my equipment repair service.. Freight in was prepaid , I paid for...
I bought one of those pumps...It works great.. Final cost was $ 295.00 with return freight..I called Fred Kevek there..He was very informative..Ran well, no leaks..Took care of my "burst of acceleration" problem.. It would cackle and run like someone sprayed starting fluid in it...
What Mack engine was used ?? This is news to me..I run a EM7 engine in the Mack I drive at work[snowplowing in Chardon Ohio].. I have a M-1028A1 daily driver and a '65 WM300 Power Wagon for giggles...Roy
Yeah...It's worth keeping as it only has 9200 miles on it..I swear that next time it'll get a small block Chevy to put in it...The truck gets a lot of looks and comments..All that mill stuff on the bumpers gets their attention..Not many around here in NE Ohio..
One other thing...The charging system showed between the green and yellow on the voltmeter..It usually runs midway in the green..I wonder if the glows were on when this happened..I got the truck home and raised the hood and felt the glow relay..It wasn't hot or even warm to the touch..Any ideas...
OH, One other thing..Usually after start-up, the voltmeter goes up into the green ,,Yesterday it was between the yellow and green with no red "Gen" light on..I kind of suspect maybe the glowplugs night have stayed on..I'll look at it this morning and check continuity , maybe pull some plugs to...
I add 2 to 3 oz. of 2 cycle oil every fill-up and upon occasion use Stanadyne additive too.. Last filter change, the fuel had a nice blue cast to it..I know it's in there...
When it was ticking, it showed a slight miss...Like something might have gone thru a valve.
I drove it home and it ran beautifully.. I'll try it in the morning to see how it starts..It never ticked
at anytime before..This was something not normal.. I've been around Deere and Ford Diesels for...
It seems like everytime it turns to getting cold out , the demons rear their ugly head....Again... Snow's on the way and this thing decides to crap out ..I dunno, Maybe it's bad carma or something supernatural..I hate to dump the truck, It just looks boss with the chassis lift and bigger summer...
Am I the only one out here that is plagued with continuous problems with a M1028A1 ??? I have had Chevys for years and not had such fits with one particular vehicle as with this truck...I bought it almost 2 years ago with only 2486 miles on it [ ILNG9N ]... Everything from starter / flexplate to...
I live in Ohio..I probably will use an anti-gell.. Truck [M1028A1] sits inside nights..Whats my main concern is starting at 3:00 AM to go plow the township roads..The filter sits just inches from the engine valve cover and the injector pump sits low under the intake manifold and will undoubtly...
I went to NAPA , got a 3123 filter [spin-on]..They came up with an appropriate housing for it..I had to alter the steel back plate for the filter base..Hosed it , it works t*tts..
