I noticed you replaced the controller card. Did you change to a different GP relay as well? I seem to remember reading on here somewhere that the CUCV electrics Legacy card paired op with a certain eb*y sourced relay was causing something like you're describing. You'll have to search but there...

That carrier set-up was an option from the factory on the Civy Blazers. My '87 gasser has one on it and it came new from the factory that way. I just can't decide whether I want to move it to the CUCV or not...????

I don't know why it would be any different than my M1009. My install went great and the system works fantastic. I can post pics when I get a chance if anyone wants to see them....

Ok all...Thanks for the feedback. I did do a fresh oil change a couple of weeks ago and I use Mobil Delvac 1300 Super 15w-40. Oil level is good but after a couple of hundred miles it sure is dirty all ready:shock:. I will probably do an engine clean with Auto-RX. This stuff come very highly...

Oil was changed 2 weeks ago and level is perfect. Oil (idiot) light goes out instantly on start...:) As mentioned before the sound is only there for a very short time...less than a minute.

I have actually heard piston slap on a diesel Mercedes and it's pretty much a constant rhythm. Mine just does a few sporadic clacks and then that's it...:?:

Ya know...I actually thought of that but it does it for such a short time. And as mentioned...it's a sporadic sound. No specific consistent rhythm. I can tell when it's in high idle and it takes a few minutes for it to come down. Much longer than the brief clacking.

The console is standard for the Civy Blazers as well. I have a 87 gasser that has the console stock.

Can someone suggest the easiest way to replace the dipstick tube seal in the trans? I read the TM and I know it's a simple job on the trans end but how do you get at that bracket bolt the holds the dipstick and vacuum hard line to the bell housing? Is there a trick to getting at that bolt? Thanks!
