Stuck working on the 4th, Might as well redo my gauges ???

According to the Haynes manual for testing the sending unit, the sending unit should read 5-8 ohms when full and 60-75 ohms when empty. I would think it would be close enough, maybe reading a bit past " full " when topped off . but I am not 100% sure...

I have never heard of these tanks "going bad " If you have a fuel dilevery problem check for : clogged screen at end of pickup tube, pin holes in line ( witch would include metal sending unit) causing the pump to suck air instead of gas, deteriated rubber lines that collapse ( internally...

    My new M885

No Horn : same fuse as the back up lights, check it first... backup lights : could be the fuse, or could be a ground problem, Take the socket for the backup light and twist it in the housing ( with a pair of pliers ) they usually rust where they are pressed in and cause grounding issues...

looks good, So the bolt holes were the same ? ( where it bolts to the bumper ) or did you have to modify them?

    882 Im looking at

If there are no mechanical issues, then that truck is worth what he is asking. However the $1,600 to repair the rust shown is way to much, you can do it yourself for under $200. Remember, the bodywork does not have to be perfect on these MV's because the flat paint will hide a lot of it.

There was some conversation on this a while back in another thread, I cant remember for sure, but I think the general consensus was that the military did not have an official 3 color desert pattern. They had a 4 color desert pattern, then went to the all tan. ( just like the Artic pattern...

    Brush guard

I have seen a couple M880s with brush guards, They are not standard for the M880 but may be an after market kit that some units used. I oftend wondered if they were scavenged from the M1008's ...

    M 880 Facts

Yes and no.... It is not normal to have a M880 with blackout lights ( that work ) that do not have a 3 lever switch on the dash , just to the right of where the radio would have gone in a civi truck However, It is normal to have wiring problems with these trucks and see the previous owners do...

Disenchanted with m1009, Rather have an M880!

Does it have the bows and the cargo cover ? If it does then I would say it is worth the $1,800 for sure. If not, then it would depend on if the wiring was hacked up, how good the interior is and what all it need to be reliable ( brakes , hoses, tires ect. )

Never seen one in 3 color desert camo, But I have seen some 1008s in 4 color desert camo. I would suggest using the 3 color woodland pattern for the M1009 with the desert colors... Here is a link to the pattern ( named SUV #1 and #2 ) CUCV Camouflage Painting Patterns
