    Registering a Deuce in Arizona

Is there a way to register it as an RV, if you add a few things? Here in Illinois, I could have registered my 5 ton as an RV if I added a few things. They gave me a list of 6 items, and the truck needed to have 4 of them to be classified as an RV. Maybe it's the same in your state? Just a thought..

    Wheel chocks?

Very similar, though the ones that I looked at were a little more heavy duty. They had a long detachable lever (maybe even ratcheting) that rotates the threaded shaft. Of course, I can't post the eBay link :p

    Wheel chocks?

After looking at chocks online, I noticed that they carry expanding mechanical "chocks" that go between the rear tires. Some of them even have places to put locks on. However, I don't think there's enough of a gap between the tires when you have super singles on the truck. Plus I don't think...

Cool thread 8) I especially like the pic of the M939 series truck with dual wheels up front :)

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Worst case, I will pick up one of the upgraded 130A units from 74M35A2 :) I was thinking about doing that regardless. I've also seen 200A military alternators on eBay.. Not Sure what vehicle they are off of.

What have you done to your 5 ton this week?

Took it for a short drive today after work :driver: I'll probably drive it again tomorrow, because my nephews have never had a ride in it ;) Yesterday I ordered a custom electric cab heater for it. Can't wait to get it installed and see how it works :)

    Wheel chocks?

I believe that is the type that I have, so I am curious as well. Maybe I should build my own set of military style wood chocks as others have done.

    Wheel chocks?

Sorry to hear. Like you said, the important thing is that no one was hurt. As a side note, I always chock my wheels on any kind of incline (especially my driveway.) I keep a pair of chocks in the truck at all times.

    Quick Battery Box Question

The yellowish mat located under the stock military batteries.. Is that to help neutralize acid, absorb vibration, or both? Mine looks pretty nasty. I would like to replace it if possible. I'm going to go ahead and do the swap to 2 Group 31 batteries. I need more room in the battery box for...

Had some problems with my tractor today :(

Temp readings are as follows: Area directly around block heater is 96 degrees Radiator temp is 34 Upper hose for cab heater is about 70 Lower hose is 57 I should point out for reference purposes that I had the heater plugged in for 5 hours. I meant to do it for 3 hours, but I ended up going...

So who has bumped the power on a 6CTA cummins

I'm curious about the turbo too. I was always worried that a larger turbo would mean more turbo lag. As a reference point, what is the max boost produced on a stock 8.3?

Had some problems with my tractor today :(

Yeah.. I will go buy an IR temp gun tomorrow.

Had some problems with my tractor today :(

    1. Yes. 2. Both speeds work. You can even hear the difference from the drivers seat. 3. Haven't done that yet. However, the temp gauge does not move until I am already at work. At that point if I turn the heater on you can start to feel warm air blow out. 4. Haven't verified that they are...

Had some problems with my tractor today :(

So I tested my block heater today.. Block was warm to the touch, as it should be. I had another thought.. Is it possible that I could have a thermostat issue? Do the thermostats on these trucks fail in the open position, or the closed position?
