Those are GMV bed rails. There's those and some tube style ones Mil Sys Group makes. If you find any like the ones above, let me know. I need them.
I got a set of repro corner posts that 86humv has had from another member who didn't need them but I'm waiting for a set of the rails to...
Yeah, I had similar thoughts when I saw it but chalked it up more to being a proof of concept shot since he and his buddy had just finished putting it all in.
If I were mounting a tire in said fashion I'd use 2, or possibly 3, ratchet straps. At minimum two through the hub of the wheel to...
I can't take credit for the idea and, I'm still in the process of prepping mine for installation but, maybe consider installing some E-Track in your bed to secure the tire to.
Some pics I've stolen from the guy that did think of it:
You can either strap down the tire with E-Track D-Rings...
If I were you, definitely head to the link porkysplace posted for the HMMWV TMs.
They're searchable PDFs and have thousands of pages that cover just about everything you'd need to know about these trucks. The -20 series tell you how to troubleshoot and repair and the -24P have great assembly...
My truck had a leak in the exact same area on the front diff.
At first I thought it was a leaky caliper and ordered a new seal and boot kit. However, once I dug into repairing it, I saw the caliper was dry and it was actually the diff output seal.
Ordered a new output seal, had a bear of a...
Upgrade it to the LED wait light!
My original quit working, Ended up liking it so much I upgraded all the status lights to LED. They're nice and bright!
Part number is 12356703-2/5583395. Mac Motors has them in stock reasonably priced.
Just in reference to a standard, off-the-shelf 12v winch versus one designed for military use or these trucks specifically.
I have the exact same winch. I'm running mine off 12v so I can't offer any first hand experience with converting or rewiring it. If you want to run it off 24v you'll need...
Here's the manual for the Badland 12k. Page 9 has the wiring setup. The winch has 1 big positive input however, without having the open solenoid box in front of me, I'm betting you probably could split it up the way you're talking about.
I have a commercial 12v Badlands winch installed in my truck.
First, there is no 24v-12v converter powerful enough to handle the draw of an electric winch.
The 14v tap on the regulator may only output 50A but with the generous capacity of the Hawker batteries, I don't believe I'd be able to...
Admittedly, we don't have a complete picture available of the dynamics at play to form a solid thesis. There may be any number of things at play to explain what I measured. That's why I thought a total engine picture or video with a thermal imager would give a more complete picture of the...
I'd echo the above about Lowe's selection being better than Home Depot but, the quantity they usually have in stock (namely Grade 8 stuff) is lacking so they're good for ones and twos of stuff.
For quantity and price, Fastenal is a better local option.
Ha! Not to worry. Analysis and troubleshooting is a big part of my job. I've been accused of being too descriptive with customers on occasion.
I actually feel like I neglected to collect some important data during testing.
Something to keep in mind, the H1 receiver hitch is a much more robust solution than a simple bumper mounted receiver like some of the new ones being sold on eBay for HMMWVs.
Besides the bumper mounting, it ties into the body brackets, and has arms that attach it to the rear lower control arm...
Time for me to do my write-up for the kit I bought from 911joeblow!
Kit got here last Wednesday, just had a chance to get it installed today. 911joeblow shipped very quick! Bought it from him 4/15 (Saturday afternoon) and he had it shipped Monday.
First impressions of the kit... It's thorough...
Yep, they never make eye contact when they're going the opposite direction either.
They're worse than the Jeep drivers who tend to give a reaction ranging from stink eye to, rarely, an actual wave.
Funny enough, I tend to get the most positive reactions from built non-Jeep trucks...
Bingo! Traffic stops and domestic violence calls are the two most unpredictable and potentially dangerous things that officers can regularly be involved with. Making that traffic stop go as smoothly as possible is always a good thing for both parties. Of course, having a valid CCW permit to hand...
