If updating a 5-ton is as easy as a deuce, then go for it! Buy an old bus and put the engine and transmission in a 5-ton...work on quieting the cab and there you go, a 65 mph MV.
Why hasn't anyone suggested a deuce? 8'x12' bed, should fit a sand rail, it can pull a load and it wouldn't cost nearly as much to get 46" tires and wheels...if you want, put in a different trans and some other Cummins engine or even a DT466 (or even a multi-fuel out of a 5-ton). A ton of...
Authentic historic plates are $35 for a lifetime, you send in a picture and fill out a form and plate your vehicle with a plate form the year of the truck.
Regular historic plates are $35 for 15 years.
I have the authentic historic plates, but I don't use my truck as a "truck"...it is a...
I get the FL document as well, I just take all the paperwork down to the SOS and they give me a title, it usually isn't a problem.
I also highly doubt having the truck titled as "utility" will hurt you if you are getting the historical plates...
DH, the earlier posts was about some trailers or selling something as I recall, and that was never brought up again. What I was posting about now was a m818 from Lansing...exactly what the title says. Sorry to ruin your thread, that was not my intention . I can certainly start a new thread which...
Arrived in Lansing at 8AM, ate at Tim Hortons. Joe showed about 8:45 and we went in and started messing with the truck. Checked fluids, all look good except the fuel just had a little in the bottom and it was murky.
So we try starting the truck, no go. Take off fuel filter and there is...
I've seen hundreds of those, or ones that look a lot like them at some different GL lots which are presumably also unit storage spaces.
they are expensive!
So...drive around your 813 you got back from Oshkosh and post some pictures in another thread!
By the way, I just spoke with Joe; he might be able to set up my recovery for Monday. Hopefully it will work out that way. He sounds pretty busy.
Well, my EUC just cleared...7 business days, it gets shorter and shorter every time! Now, lets just hope it is a great runner. I'll post pictures of recovery. I have to call Joe today.
4x4 sure doesn't need extra room in the cab because he is overweight, it is definately a height issue. He is at least 6 inches taller than me. I meant to ask you Saturday, do you play basketball?:-D
Derrick, you can either flip the wheels or the hubs...I prefer the hubs to be flipped, I just haven't had time to do it yet.
Now I have a 5-ton on the way!
Here are some pictures of our special Honoring Veteran's Sunday service, this is a group of soldiers from the local recruiting office posting the colors. I'll get some pictures of the Saturday show later on.
Bob, we didn't have a huge turnout...even though it was a super nice day. We had 2 Jeeps, 1 M1008, a m109, and 3 m35a2's. I had some committments from some others and I'm surprised they didn't come, but we still had a really good time and lots of veterans showed up. We ate good too!
The show is tomorrow from 11AM-3PM! Got my truck parked out front, just got the fire extinguisher mounted and the wheel chocks are on too.
Just an update, the chaplain is unable to come and be a part of our service on Sunday, so I guess I'll be preaching the sermon instead...but the service...
