    A2 transmission thread

As of now i have all the winch pieces. I was reading a thread a while back about a guy that converted his to hydraulic. He used a pump on the pto and then an oil motor right under the winch. I was considering doing this, but i cannot find the thread again. It was part of a long list of well...

    A2 transmission thread

Ive finally gotten the donor bus torn down enough to get excited about my deuce repower. 5.9 B series from a 1994 bluebird handy bus. Being as transmission would be the next part in line for forward progress, I need to know pros and cons of options i have. Also mounting availability. 1.)...

RPM vs Speed vs Tire size

Ill start with the 9s then as its already installed. I have to also start with an engine swap as the deuce i bought had no power. The 5.9 will be mated to an allison auto, but no OD, out of a bluebird. I want to use the g56 6 speed but the clutch assm. is too costly as of now. I figure one...

RPM vs Speed vs Tire size

m-35tom you being the transmission expert i have a question. I believe the factory OD is .79 on the trans. That is what i see in your equation and also did a search and found your OD gear set thread. what is the trans number that has the od? i think the od ends with 3 and the non ends with 2...

RPM vs Speed vs Tire size

11Echo i also have a question. Using your posted data and substituting a 16-20 (@53") I am showing a speed of 82.9MPH at 2600RPM and an RPM of 2256 to maintain 72MPH. Aside from rotational losses does this seem accurate?

RPM vs Speed vs Tire size

its an all can participate thread. anyone that has noted there speed can get in on this. there is no opinion or best, so far, and that was how it was intended. so we can share and compare ours to others. there is a formula to dictate the mathematical speed of things. i dont know what it is...

RPM vs Speed vs Tire size

jwaller what size tire do you have? patracy what is the governed speed? i think i want to run the 16-20s on mine (since i have some) and im just looking for an rpm at about between 65 and 70 Mph. no reason for faster than that. its only about 10 minutes per hour difference in seat time.

RPM vs Speed vs Tire size

Quite a few conversations have been about getting more speed from the deuce, changing the tire size, engine rpm, and safety. The normal speed for all stock trucks seems to be aprox 48 to 52 MPH. This is at a engine speed of 2300RPM. Some people will "push" the engine to 2600RPM for that max at...

    trailer axle questions

As far as fab is concerned I have no issues with that. The trailer will be the least modified part of my deuce. I believe the rockwell axles are 3-3/8s square. If the trailer is 6 inch round it will pose a challenge but nothing a few blocks couldnt tackle.

    trailer axle questions

Just a couple of basic questions that i would like to ask your expertise about. First off please keep in mind i have never seen any of the military trailers in person. All my questions are based on assumptions i have about things i have read on this site. I believe the best candidate for my...

Reviving an old thread for a similar question. This is the closest thing i could find in a search I have reviewed the TMs and havent found exactly what im looking for. Could someone please tell me or point me in the correct direction on information regarding the acceptable ID of the dogbone...

Hydro-Max Brake Assist *pics added* (long read)

Wonderful. Why did you go with the 1.75? I was under assumption that you were looking for the 2.0

If you can't delete it you don't need it.

Great counter. I hadnt thought of that. Then it would turn into the unfriendly CL

If you can't delete it you don't need it.

After reading all this it seems the rules are very simple. I may not be fluent with the particulars of the system since I do not have a premium membership yet, however with the ease of a bump extending the time on an add, perhaps a much slimmer timeline could be enacted. I only know very basic...

Hydro-Max Brake Assist *pics added* (long read)

Is there any numbers cast into the housing or booster so we could ID them easily at a glance?

Hydro-Max Brake Assist *pics added* (long read)

No idea. Just thinking that would be an easier info to find about certain vehicles opposed to the specific brake parts. My deuce is the largest truck i have worked on so i will be no help in that aspect

Hydro-Max Brake Assist *pics added* (long read)

Not to sound like a stick in the mud, but perhaps a different search criteria is in order. Instead of looking at every place that makes the parts you want but with the wrong options, look first at what trucks were 24v to start, then focus on only those parts suppliers. I believe 24v system...
