Stopped by my bmv this afternoon after work and they wrote me a new inspection form removing the model designation so now it matches the title. They even suggested that I go to a different branch to get the title so I will! Hopefully this works.
In other news, I successfully reassembled the fuel pump unit and reinstalled with a 15 amp fuse (it was all I had besides a lot of questionable slow blow fuses). Turned on the truck and I could feel it running in the tank. Mission accomplished? Hope so, I'll check under the hood tomorrow for any...
Right on. Sounds like the vin doesnt or shouldnt matter. I think its a matter of the model vehicle. If the m35a2 isnt listed on the inspection I bet it will work
Also someone told me I need to use the full number on the plate on the dash, I'm guessing to list on the inspection, to get the full 17 digits needed for a vin. Does anyone have information on this? Original title only has the 9 digit half.
Ok so no common sense found in Columbus. Lady was extremely rude and said we dont title military vehicles, off road use only. But I think I found the problem.
On the inspection she listed the model as M35A2. Title doesnt list the model. Guessing thats what is triggering the rejection. So I think...
I'll have to look when I get my title back tomorrow. I think it says AM General. The lady at the bmv mentioned the make. Which doesnt make sense who cares who made it theres a valid title. I hope to find some common sense in Columbus tomorrow lol
I contacted Ohio Motorpool and someone there told me to contact steel soldiers lol
I think someone in Columbus is confused. I have a title to a vehicle. Its from another state. It just needs to be transferred to Ohio. Sounds like I'll be making a phone call to Columbus tomorrow.
Well I just got a call from the BMV and they left a message saying my title was rejected because it's a military vehicle! Anyone in Ohio ever have this problem?
Yes there is about 3/4" that sticks up above the surface of the roof. It has a small edge or lip and also has leftover silicone on the top edge. I'll have to inspect it a bit more to determine if I can fit some sort of cover on it. I've seen some covers doing a search for the hmmvs and for 1078...
Are you going with the reproduction seals? If so be careful theres a video i think tactical repairs where when you try to torque them down the tab snips off and the seal moves.
So I have a problem. I have a hole in my roof...
Turret hole that is. Definitely has the cool factor going for it. But not so much when it rains. I'm trying to decide whether to make a cover to bolt onto it, or just patch it. I have a hood behind the garage that I can cut up to weld in a patch...
Today I decided to try and fix the fuel pump. A few days ago I installed a 10a fuse to replace the blown one. Today I checked and it had blown so I pulled the pump assembly. Looks like someone has been in the tank before. The lower part of the pump appeared to be clocked 90 degrees off so the...
Yesterday I spent cleaning out the bed of the truck and trailer. Turns out both of the transmissions have been taken apart and are in pieces. No big deal looks like all the parts are there. Three spares and an extra rim, a set of troop seats that need new wood, and three truck tarps and one...
It is rare that I take the 1970 1/2 Firebird Formula out and not get some comments or thumbs up. Several years ago I drove it to the Trans Am Nationals in Dayton and had a large group of bikers (I won't ID them but a well know group) drive past me and they all gave me thumbs up and F yeah's. I...
Jeez, I don't know if I want to see that! I'll definitely be stopping at the blue wood store to get an overpriced 6x6 or something large to use for a good support when restoring the brakes.
Today I pulled the fuel pump fuse cover to find a blown fuse. I stuck a regular 10amp fuse in there but...
