I fixed my leaking fuel problem. Drove the piss outta Ebenezer tonight. :driver:

Replaced the hoses with 5/32 hoses, and now it doesn't leak a drop. We're good to go. I had to go with 5/32 because apparently no parts stores around here carry anything smaller than that. But they still fit tight, and the flared ends on the nipples grab them pretty well.

Mine does. It won't shift into 3rd until about 50-55. At that point, it kicks like a pissed off mule. My vacuum lines are old and leaking too, so I know that will help.

Ah, I see. Well I guess I'll just get a couple of feet of 1/8 fuel hose. I'm guessing the hose that's on the truck now kept tearing because it's older hose, even though it's been replaced before. Getting those little bastards on there is a headache.

Ok, an update. Looks like each of these little hoses were replaced already, by NAPA 1/8 fuel hose. These things are too small, and they keep tearing during reinstall. I looked up the hose p/n from the TM and it turns out these are oddball size hoses. I can't find the inner diameter listed...

Actually, I was out there earlier investigating. I started poking my attention at the drainback hoses between the injectors, and a lot of them are barely hanging on for dear life. I pulled them off and a lot of them have enlarged openings and splits in the hose ends. Plus they're pretty soaked...

Would teflon tape on the fittings be a bad idea? I'm asking because I know these things run gobs of pressure.

Check the vacuum hoses going to the modulator, if you haven't already

I just ordered a pushrod. Forget making it. It's too cheap and easy to obtain to make one. And LOL @ that joke. Very good placement! Made me laugh.

I looked up up the p/n in the TM before I made the thread. But on second thought, I probably will just buy one. I could make one and harden it but it's so cheap, buying one would just be easier.

You're probably right. That would be a good move. But right now, I'm intrigued by this. I want to know why the crap this happened. It's just weird.
