    M1010 Interior Lighting Circuits

Just curious. How are you trying to turn on the "surgical light" (I assume this is the round blue light)???

    Vacuum Reg Valve, need it?

The vac or modulator don't have anything to do w/shifting from 1-2-3 just when and how hard it shifts. Sounds like you have a problem in the valve body of trans.

    M1009 with 15k miles won't start

The vacuum don't have anything to do with it starting or not. I have 9 cucv right now & I have seen several problems at times-but getting engine to start is normally not too bad. First thing is to "bleed" the fuel WITHOUT having to take loose all the injector lines. The fuel cannister system...

lookin for upgrades for my 6.2 "84" 1 ton cucv

The black smoke most likely means your IP has had the fuel turned up on it. It shouldn't hurt anything, I have 4 of my trucks turned up and when pulling hard or pedal to the floor they will put out some black smoke. 2 of mine I put the banks tubo on it and they don't blow the black smoke as the...

    WMO(used motor oil) in 6.2 M1009

I knew that most of the 2-1/2 & 5T trucks were "multifuel". I never knew that the 6.2 or 6.5 Chev diesels were multifuel. I have heard of someone putting special filter arrangement and a heater system to warm up the veg. oil . quite interesting?

A visual cheat for your locking hubs

Just curious. Do most of you guys leave your front hubs Locked or "free". If you leave them locked most of time you're kinda asking for little trouble with the plastic slides on the shifter forks inside the transfer case to wear out much quicker and when you do put in 4wd shifter could start...

    Fuel filter base

I just looked & they still have it listed. Just click on "Chev" & keeping scrolling down almost 1/2 way thru their list They list it as part #12471725 and their #is L-Code:38SR. Priced at $49.99 ea + $12.88 for S&H I bought 4 of them and they are brand new in orig chev box and includes new filter.

    Starter nightmare please help!!

Based on your 1st post, you said the starter just spun over & over but engine did not turn over from what I got. 1) that don't mean your starter is bad because it's doing what it suppose to do. The "thing" on top of your starter in not a relay--its the "starter solonoid". If the truck is orig...

    Problems starting when HOT

I would ck a few things before assuming it's the IP. First since its starting up when cold you can feel that your glow plugs are good & working correctly. Since your problem is actually not starting after driving awhile & engine is warm (which should be best time it should crank) since your glow...

    Manual glow plug setup

Joe, I have several cucvs. What specificlly should I do to the GP system on regular basis? Also I noted that on a previous post that stated the GP will last longer with the standard setup vs the manual pushbutton. With the std sys the GPs are cycled almost everytime engine is started and my...

    Idle Vibration Issue m1008

I know you probably have done this, but use a pr. of pliars and tighten the two wing nuts holding the air filter on. Sometime its hard to get them tight enough with just your fingers. Try it-you might get lucky before you start doing more serious things. Hope it works. Smokey

    Wheeling in North Ga?

Look at "grayrockorv.com" it has all info on area, loc, etc. Another GREAT place in "Tellico" which is located on TN/NC line. I go to Murphy, NC- go up "Hanging Dog Road" no kidding. It's has two days of riding mild to EXTREME road sections where you need lockers in rear & front plus a lot...

what MPH does your m1009 shift at??

I've seen this ? asked many times & with many different replies. If the TH400 is working perfectly, it will change at different speeds (rpms) first of all whether it is the truck (4:56) or the blazer (3:08) . It all depends on how you drive it. In order to know what the max shift points are is...

    Is this the right pump?

I think you need to take a real close look at that offer on the IP???????????? NO feedback, no sales, just started, no paypal (where you would be covered if something was not right). Just a cleaning & looking at "bad" parts is not a "rebuild" in my opinon. Note that he wants your CC # right off...

    Cucv tires and rims

I hav M1028 with the 37" hummer radials mounted on 16.5 x 9-3/4 wide (I think) the "wagon wheel " type rims. Have 4" lift that is with blocks in rear and the arced type springs on front and had to add the bolt on steering block so that would take care of the "bump" steer problem if I didn't...

Broken bolts in blocks, winches etc.

I may have missed it, but I would suggest using "EZ OUTS " There's a mfg "IRWIN" that a very good and strong. Based on the size of the broken bolt first you drill a hole as close to center as possible then use the ez out that will start to drop in your drilled hole about 1/4". Since these have...
