    M135 or M211 bob-job's? Anyone?

I'm wondering if this has been done and if so, I'd like to know more. Did a lil' photochopping and this has got me all thinking of doing a modified early deuce. I found a good candidate for a bob and chop and powertrain swap so I'd like to hear any of your thoughts. Thanks. *ahem* yeah, I...

Finally solved my starter bolt woes...

Well after numerous broken bolts I finally realized what was the problem and now my truck runs like new. At first, I had no torque strap on the front of the starter connecting to the block so I modified a 12v. 6.2l one and installed it. Everything was fine...for a while. Then I broke another...

Pic of my custom snorkel on my M1009

Hey, don't tempt me. I thought about this, after installing a turbo, having a stack that would exit on the driver's side, just above the tail-light, but on the side of the truck, then continue to the roofline. similar to what a city bus has. But maybe that's just getting carried away.....

Thinkin about doing a blue camo, thoughts?

Here's a couple of Su 37's for inspiration. Hey, go for it. I like the idea, but if you do something different, your best defence is to do it well!;-)

    lift q for 33's

Yeah, I've experienced no rubbing issues at all with my M1009. I'm running BFG All-Terrains 33" x 12.5" on the 15 x 8 stock rims. FYI: This months' 'Four Wheeler' magazine has a tire/lift chart for popular 4x4's. Includes tire size, lift, off-set and trimming in an easy-to-read format:-P...

    WMO(used motor oil) in 6.2 M1009

I run WMO consistantly in my M1009. Works great, smoother operation and a little increase in power. I run about 75/25 fuel/WMO ratio up to 50/50 but not that high very often. In my rig I run a Racor water/fuel separator I believe it's the R47G with the priming head. Great set-up but the filter...

    Dual Glasspacks

I installed glass-packs on mine as well. Love the sound, no droaning at highway speed and improved flow. I run them on everthing, My '54 Olds Super 88, my '65 Pontiac convertible. Personally, cannot stand the hollow, gurgly sound of most after-market mufflers. Only my opinion btw:wink:

Pic of my custom snorkel on my M1009

I wont give too much away, however, there are different gaskets available through various aftermarket suppliers. Trucklite may be one of those;-) The snorkel is fastened to A pillar the exact same way the antenna mounts are, to keep it in theme. I did bend and cut the tube, but bought some...

    bobbed deuce

Great job on your truck! Looks like many a photochop job I've played around with. I'm a hotrodder first. Chopped quite a bit of old tin and have taken the flack from it. So be it. Do you remember the completely stock '57 Chev with the seafoam green and white paint or the slammed, chopped...

Pic of my custom snorkel on my M1009

For now, I have 3" I.D wet-exhaust bellows, but the final product will have an airbox with a one-way duckbill for water drainage before entering the filter housing. For the airbox, I'm using a modified M60 ammo can which fits perfectly between the batteries and accepts 3" O.D. pipe as well. This...

Pic of my custom snorkel on my M1009

Here are more pics of my rig with the snorkel. I'm in the process of buying a fabrication business and I'm considering putting together a kit if I get enough interest. I'll keep you posted.;-)

Pic of my custom snorkel on my M1009

Just the one pic today and crappy at that but more to come. I welded this together with 3" O.D. muffler tube, a wet exhaust coupler from Trident and a John Deere Prefilter. Mounted with the same threaded rivets to accept a 5/16 bolt. Works great:smile:

    Remote air filter box

I'm close to installing my snorkel set-up, consisting of 3" OD exhaust pipe and various 45's and 90's cut and modified to match the contours of the body, a John Deere particle ejector, a small-arms ammo can, a 3"ID EPDM Hi-temp rubber wet exhaust hose coupling from Trident and a couple rubber...

    My dad's new FMTV...

Speaking of mutation..... a lil' deal I'm working on. Hino 6x6 w/ 2.5 Rockwells, 46" XML's on double bead-locks, deuce transfer case, 3.7 turbo diesel, about 100-1 reduction and the list goes on.

    Portal axle pricing info: FYI

So, I'm embarking on doing a frame-off resto and mods to my M1009 and I'm looking to do something no-one(at least that I know of) has done and that is give my rig the capabilities of a unimog. I've picked up a Dana 60 front-end and a 14 bolt rear and with a help of a friend, we're rebuilding...
