Drop the gas tank. The fuel line is probably rusted too. Replace everything at once. Line is cheap. The double lap flaring tool is the most expensive thing you will buy. Some parts stores have a tool rental program and may have this kit to rent. If you do all the lines now you wont be doing it...
We run 24 series batteries in every deuce we build. That way we can fit three in the battery box ( 1 for the seperate 12v system.) They have never let us down and are about $60.00 each.

I have access to about 4 different kinds of zippered boots from my suppliers. I am inthe process of checking their quality and where they are made then I will start carrying a full line of zippered and non zippered. Should be within the next 2 weeks.

I can see where you are coming from. If I was able to get a truck from my old unit, I would probably not want to sell it. But so far I have not found one so I will keep buying and selling.
