If a fella wanted to buy and build a Humvee, say a simple 2 door pick-up truck or a 4 door soft top. How much are we looking at? I seem to see a lot of "basket cases" but not much on how much they are spending to buy and put it together. I am thinking of getting one to put together but would...
"it is super resonant and vibrational"
That is kind of how mine was when i got it. I ended up with a non-typical harmonic balancer issue. Mine ate the super small "key" that is in the key-way and then it seemed you could feel every cylinder...Lump,lump,lump ect. Mine felt tight until it fell off...
I just had an issue also similar to yours. Jumped in the pig, yanked the switch and the only thing that worked was the head lights. The first fix was easy I pushed the switch back in and didn't say anything.
Second fix was about as easy, after checking all the switches were in the proper spot...
I like it, to bad we can't import that kind of stuff until it is to old to get parts for. I can't understand why the U.S. Vehicle laws are so retarded. At least we can have guns...for now.
"they would cover pigs in tar, SET THEM ON FIRE, and sling them out in front"
That would work pretty well in our current conflicts. Strap some fins and a G.P.S./camera to there snout and you have smart pigs..... Flying pigs!!! Yes I went there.
You should sell it fast....and very cheap....to me. :-D I would love to have a clunker like that with no rust. Up here in the rust belt new trucks come from the factory with cancer.
I love it. I want to do the same thing, but i have a 48 Bantam jeep trailer with a factory tailgate and don't have the heart to cut on it. I should trade it to a jeep guy and see if i can get two military trailers.
A ratchet strap or a chain binder around the tread is a much safer way of going about it. Clamp the air hose on and start...binding, when the bead seats remove the binder. I know, no fire or lost knuckle hairs.
I seem to lose a lot over the sides when hauling a load out of the woods. You know how much these things will haul and i fill it up to the brim. Suppose you don't have any spares lying about or want to get rid of those.
Does anyone have a good picture or drawing of the bracket thing that goes inside the stake pocket on a 1008 for mounting the troop seats. I looked at the TMs and couldn't really see what was happening there. I just need to find or make these 6 chumpys to haul more firewood. Thanks.
