MEP-002A or 003A fuel fill strainer rust

Got any pictures of those plastic containers? I picked up an 002 a couple months back. It's clean and complete on the outside, but the inside of the fuel tank is nasty. The filler neck, strainer, and bottom of the tank are covered in some white-ish crud that smells like varnish.

MEP-805B on Trailer - NEED HELP

If you don't have a vehicle stout enough to pull the 805 and it's trailer, you'd be better off loading it on a trailer with brakes, or paying someone to haul it. Personally, I wouldn't want to cross any mountains with something that large, so I'd be looking for multiple shipping quotes. You...

MEP-803A Outlet box location on right side?

I did something similar with a 30a outlet on an 802 a while back. Here's a link to that post: https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?159003-Adding-a-240V-30A-outlet-to-an-802A&p=1925067&highlight=#post1925067

MEP-803A Outlet box location on right side?

There should be enough room to run the wires below the storage box.

External Filter on MEP-803A Aux Input

The Racor R12T filter works pretty well. It is also used as the primary filter & water separator on 831's. I believe the filter base is Racor # 120AT. Personally, I like to keep things simple, so I bought a filter base (Donaldson P560382) that uses the same filters as the primary fuel filter &...

MEP-802/803/831 Generator Control & Parameter Monitor by WIFI Demo

So is the wifi board on the generator powered by the genset's batteries or does it have it's own power source?

    Fuel type

I haven't tried running kerosene in my 802 or 803's yet, but I've got a few gallons in storage in case we get a really cold winter (it'll flow to roughly -40°). The machines are rated to burn JP-8, which is a kerosene based jet fuel. I've read that kerosene has slightly less energy per gallon...

    Outlet plug for my 803

Looking good! Don't forget to ground your set.

    802A Parallel operation ???

Have you tried looking on ebay for a MEP generator parallel cable? Also, you might have better luck by starting a new thread.

    911 MEP-831a not transfering fuel

There is a small strainer/filter between the aux pump and the aux inlet fitting. Any chance that is plugged? Edit: Just checked my 831. It has a Hastings Filters GF27 In-Line Fuel Filter.

I need more details for transfer switch and voltage control onMEP803A

If it were me, I would not hook it up to the house panel until I'd proved it was making 120/240 volts and holding near 60Hz. I'd start with resistive loads like lights, heater, oven, etc., before moving on to something with a motor. Verify the readings with a good multi-meter or a kill-a-watt...

I need more details for transfer switch and voltage control onMEP803A

FZ36226 resembles a serial number. Does it match the serial number on the data plate above the fuel filler cap?

    803a water separator breakthrough!

Agreed, here's a list of things I've tried unsuccessfully: 1) 1/8"-27 NPT 2) 1/8"-27 NPS 3) 1/8"-28 BSP 4) M10x1.0 5) -3AN O-ring boss (3/8-24 thread) Of all those, 1/8"-27 NPT was the closest fit, but would only engage about 2 threads. I eventually got fed up with it and just cranked on it...

    803a vibration

Do you have the generator on the ground, floor, or some other firm surface? Or is it on a trailer or some sort of dolly? I had a 802 bounce like crazy on a dolly I made of 2x6's with a caster at each corner, but it ran pretty smooth once I put it on the ground. They also seem to do well on a...

Trailer mounting of 802/803 vs. 002/003

My nephew and I built a trailer to haul my 802 and/or 803 generators. We drilled 3 sets of 4 holes in the trailer's frame rails to match up with the skid base such that we can haul either a single generator inline or a pair of generators sideways. Now, I'd like to use it to retrieve an 002...

    Testing Aux Fuel Pump Operation

Agreed, that is the case when using a bung adapter, but I thought I'd read the the OP was connecting the hose direct to the draw tube. So in my mind, all bets were off. This is turning out to be a tough puzzle to solve. I'll be very interested to see what the root cause is once once this is...

    Testing Aux Fuel Pump Operation

Another random thought from way out in left field... when you were running the aux pump with the full length hose and draw tube, is there any chance the draw tube was vertical and suction sealing itself tight against the bottom of the barrel/bucket/container?

    Testing Aux Fuel Pump Operation

Is the draw tube clean and clear? Is the line from the aux pump to the tank clear? Could there be a stuck check valve? Are you able to bench test the old/new pump using short hoses?

    MEP 004 Mystery

My guess would be a hose going to/from an aftermarket coolant heater, such as a HOTSTART, etc.
