    Need some help from Venezuela

I'm a visual learner. Hopefully this will help someone else. The 4 positions on the blue arc are for 3-phase. The 2 positions on the red arc are for 1-phase. Assuming you have the voltage adjusted properly: When the switch is on any of the positions with the yellow dots, the voltage should...

Picking up an MEP-803A from an Army depot

They will also fit in the bed of a 1/2 ton crew cab chevy. In a pinch, you can move them on a flat surface fairly easily with a roller (3 or 4 foot long piece of steel pipe or wooden dowel rod) and a 3 foot pry bar. Use the pry bar to lift up under each skid just enough to get the "roller"...

    MEP004A generator block heater

I haven't tried this personally, but it ought to work for an 802 or 803: The Zerostart Engine Heater 3100077 for Lister-Petter LPW Series (1994 & newer 56 CID 2 cyl., 85 CID 3 cyl., 113 CID 4 cyl.). This model is to be installed between cylinders. Point element UP or DOWN. PRODUCT...

    MEP-803A Spare Parts

I've had good luck with a rubber strap wrench. Occasionally, for something really stubborn or soft, I'll use a pair of them offset 180°. The ones I have are similar to this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B001AMXRG6/ref=cm_cr_srp_mb_bdcrb_top?ie=UTF8

    MEP 803a 24v fuse needed F03A125V30A 5920-00-539-6920

Reset kit in a box? Not sure if this is what you had in mind, but I was looking at this on a recent GP auction. It went dirt cheap, probably because it was in Guam. I couldn't get a shipping quote in time and I didn't want to risk spending big bucks shipping home a cheap win, so I passed...

Extra discharge port on MEP 802 water pump

Agreed, it's not necessary. I've seen some with a short chunk of hose and a bolt clamped into the end as a makeshift plug.

    Identification of Marine Diesel?

Looks like Banks is making the engines for the JLTV, the replacement for the HMMWV. Possibly based on a Duramax block. https://www.bankspower.com/insider_news/pinch-me-i-gotta-be-dreamin/

    MEP 803a Auxiliary Fuel Connection

The auxiliary fuel fitting on the generator is a -5AN fitting. You can also use a 5/16" JIC fitting since they are compatible. I'd use a 5/16" fuel line personally, but 1/4" or 3/8" would probably work ok.

Jerry can fuel pickup adapter and hose for Wavian / NATO cans

Do a search for "LMS Lichfield LTD jerry can adapter with fuel pipe". It includes everything except the fuel can and the -4 to -5 fitting.

Jerry can fuel pickup adapter and hose for Wavian / NATO cans

Hello, I recently found a place that was selling auxiliary fuel kits for NATO style fuel cans. The kits come with a hose, adapter-lid and pickup tube with a screen. Here's the adapter-lid. It has a small vent hole that is open to the atmosphere, so I'm not sure how this would do in a moist...

    Mel-831a Fuel gauge

Here's a link to the thread on lighting the gauges on an 802/803: https://www.steelsoldiers.com/showthread.php?152783-MEP-802A-803A-gauge-lighting Post #18 talks about the parts needed to add a socket and bulb, if not already present.

I've had good luck going to my local hydraulic shop and having them make custom hoses.

MEP-803A: Rain water in engine compartment

Looks good! Might have to give that a try.

    bug and critter screens

Looks good! That fine screen should keep all of the critters out. There are a few more holes on the bottom. There's a square hole under the engine block, and a round hole under each battery. Some folks also cover the holes for the coolant drain hose and the fuel/water separator drain hose.

    Labeled Breaker Panel

Thanks for the kind words! I wrote those instructions with the assumption that my father-in-law (late 70's) or my mother (not overly mechanical) would be the ones venturing out in lousy weather to restore power. They are good at following directions, but in that situation they'd likely already...

    Mep 803a overload question

Do you by chance mean the frequency (hertz) is dropping as the load (amps) increases? It's fairly typical for the frequency to drop a little as the load increases. Many folks will set the frequency around 61 or 62 hertz (no load) so that it's closer to 60 hertz when a larger load is being...

    Drash generator 35kw with 96,000 BTU A/C?

Look inside the inlet connector above the bottom center pin. It should have a number like one of these: 32-12 ( 60 amps, 5 pins) 44-12 (100 amps, 8 pins) 52-12 (200 amps, 8 pins).

    Labeled Breaker Panel

Quick Instruction Sheet Here's a quick instruction sheet I put together for the 802/803's at my parent's and in-law's. Those setups include an aux tank and a variety of receptacles, but the essentials should be the same. Feel free to use/edit/share.
