So you would rather some one buy a bad truck then have the info to steer clear or buy knowing? I would rather buy knowing something was wrong than to find out when I picked it up. I am sure more feel that way. Rules or not.

As An engine builder, I have a real hard time thinking that a broken crank is from a bad balancer. I have seen several cranks break in the 6.2's but this is caused by the use of a cast crank. Most high end diesels use a forged crank just for this reason but for it to break cause of the balancer...

Ok, on my watch list there is a bar that says status and the date is nov 17 and then there is a bar that says end date nov 19th? Any ideas? I would figure it is active.

This may not be the place but I will ask any way. There are a couple trucks for sale at the DRMO north of me but I cant figure out how you bid on these? The auction says there are bidding restrictions and all that but says you dont need to fill out the EUC till after the end of the auction...

Where would a guy get that neat little book shown in post #6 with the cartoon explianations of duce symptoms? I would love to get one or see one that was easier to read with out the tiny type.

For as much as the truck will see the highway. The points will work great. I have done the Pertronix in my Packard hot rod and am pleased with the results but I will keep them in mind if the money is there and I need a change.

Thank you RL, I will mess with the timming now that the points are set. I drove to the store about an hour ago and it runs much better now than before.

I just set it to .018 and that works. I figured I would try to get the right gap while I was in there. The gap was about .005 so I can say it runs much better.

Have searched but cant find specs for the pionts gap on the OA331. Any one know this?
