    looky what I got!

I posted some pics in this thread: http://www.steelsoldiers.com/cucv/61625-m1008-arctic-winterization-kit.html I've got the Interior/Battery heater and it works awesome, not sure how much battery power it draws to run it, instructions say to only use the interior heater after the engine is...

    Triple batteries?

Batteries tested good so that's no longer an issue, gotta be the pump motor, off to the Boss dealer. Thanks

    Triple batteries?

I've been using the Boss cold weather fluid, seems really thin.

    Triple batteries?

I'll see how the batteries test at lunch, I didn't realize pumps needed rebuilt that often, that's probably it, it had been a while since the fluid had been completely drained, who knows how long since a rebuild. Just replaced all the hydraulic hoses and put in new plow and battery cables, I...

what branch/unit did your cucv serve with?

Only HQ 101 I think it could be Is the Headquarters 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) out of Ft Campbell, KY. Probably got transferred up to a unit at Ft Lewis at some point.

    Triple batteries?

I always warm up the truck and let her cool down and I'm still having a lot of power drain and trouble with raising the plow. This Boss V plow weighs twice as much as any plow that will fit an S10 so it's putting a much bigger load on the battery. I've either got weak batteries or a failing...

what branch/unit did your cucv serve with?

    Triple batteries?

I think I may need to replace my batteries soon. Has anyone running plows or big winches done a three battery setup to handle the 12v loads? Is this possible with the M1008 charging system? A lot of guys plowing run two battery set ups. I was looking at batteries today and I could pickup three...

    Glow plug for 6.2

Current recommended one's seem to be the AC60G's or Bosch Duratherms, but I haven't seen a part number for those. Unfortunately, I ordered the Wellman 070's that were listed on the Wiki before I searched the forum and found out nobody recommends 'em any more, the Wellman's I pulled out had no...

My M1009 starts great with only 4 working glow plugs?

There is a 12v terminal directly above the glow plug relay. I decided to use that for my glowplugs source because it is close and it was run with the same gauge wire as the wire going to the resistor so I thought it should support the load, there is a fusible link to protect the circuit also...

My M1009 starts great with only 4 working glow plugs?

When I just got my M1008 it would taking a lot of cranking and at least two cycles to start, Being in AK and it being my first diesel, I thought it was normal. Then I found it would only start if the block heater was plugged in. Changed out the glow plugs, all 8 were bad but it was still...

    Salt Spreaders

Check out http://www.plowsite.com, it's the Steel Soldiers of plowing tons of info on there. They have a whole forum on spreaders, it's titled Ice Management. Mine had a spreader in the back at one point, that's why it's got no tailgate. Up here they use a lot of sand and gravel so my truck...

    "Bulletproof" Seat Cover for M1028

I'll second Jatonka, I just got the winter front a few weeks ago and it looks and fits great, if you want something tough that looks original, I'd go with his seat covers.

no clicking with new glow plugs

Great explanation. Just changed all the glowplugs in my m1008 and noticed the same thing. Turns out all 8 were bad, but it was still turning over as long as the block heater was plugged in. So now no clicking at start up, but once it starts, which it does in under a second now, I hear the...

    Fuel transfer tank

Not sure about offroading with a fuel tank, I'd check how those tanks are vented too, don't want to be spilling fuel out a vent on a side slope. You may be able to add a stock second tank underneath the truck that would keep your center of gravity lower. You can also get 15 or 30 gallon poly...

    Para Cord Steering Wheel Wrap

Nice wrap, also like the camo wrap on the shifter and turn signal, chromes peeling off the plastic on mine. Sorry, no video but this is a pretty easy wrap, most annoying thing is pulling all the extra line through. Hard to estimate how much you'll need, wrapping eats that line up quick. Start...
