    Singled Out Deuce Tractor

Thanks for the input! I guess I can rule out the M345. At this point I'm starting to lean more toward converting a M295 based van trailer like Miltrucks did, with a few personal touches. I'll need to get that all done in CAD and look into the cost of that. Perhaps I'll also look into the M270 as...

    Singled Out Deuce Tractor

I did not realize the trailer weighed that much! I thought it was some where around 8k. I figure the new neck might add at most 750lbs. And the length of the M270 is still an issue when maneuvering the old narrow streets of Roxborough or Quakertown here in PA. It would be great appearance wise...

    Singled Out Deuce Tractor

Red That is the exact trailer I was referring to when I said "Miltruck's conversion from a van trailer" he built an incredible looking step deck out of it. 11Echo, the M270 is just overly long and at nearly 20,000 lbs alone, that doesn't leave much room for any cargo capacity if I do need to...

    Singled Out Deuce Tractor

Now do the MLVW's have a chamfer on both sides of the lug holes or are they single sided like the A3's? They seem like a solid alternative to A3 wheels for the rears if they can be mounted "dish out".

    Singled Out Deuce Tractor

11Echo, what type of wheels are those on the front of your deuce? I can't tell if they are MLVW or A3. If they are MLVW wheels, do those have the standard industrial bead or are the MPT like the A3's?

    Singled Out Deuce Tractor

Key word is "seem". I also rather enjoy the look of standard width tires up front. Thanks Landbarger! My plans for the trailer are kind of up in the air at the moment. I have ruled out the M146 because I prefer the look of flatbed. I am currently torn between a step deck like Miltruck's old...

    Singled Out Deuce Tractor

Slight necropost on my old thread, but some update on my deuce project (if it can even be called that at this stage). I have some general design work done on the truck done in google sketchup. The plan is to build a new cab for the truck with more room, and also build a trailer for the truck. I...

    Bobbed Deuce 5th wheel install

I have no room to tell another man how to build his truck, but if I were to be building this I would cut the frame just behind the rear leaf shackle and reinstall the aft cross member there. From there, I would add bumperetts if the bed were to be put back on and mount the tail lights by the...

    Bobbed Deuce 5th wheel install

Great looking set up, man. That is one great looking non-winch truck. How much do you think the combo is grossing?

    5 Ton HET

Carl, the 5-ton is looking awesome. By far one of the coolest 939-series trucks I've seen. Keep up the excellent work.

    Can someone ID this trailer?

Thanks NDT. I actually came across it looking at the White 666 tractor but I couldn't dig up a name. I'd love to have one too. And a White 666 to tow it. But I can't seem o find one out here on the east coast. A guy can dream though.

    Can someone ID this trailer?

I have yet to find any info on this trailer. All i know is what it looks like and that its from the second world war. The dolly is removable and it can be towed behind a standard truck tractor.

MV of the Month - December 2015

Late but since the poll has yet to go up, I'd like to nominate jrobinson5093's deuce tractor for MV of the month. Not too many 2.5 tons tractors, especially as aggressive as this one. Any chance this can get into the running?

    Statistics on Deuce ownership

Johnny, I'd like to know why you say that. Internal combustion engines aren't going away for many decades. So-called alternative fuels (natural gas, peanut oil, etc.) will most likely replace normal gas and diesel within the next century, but Industry relies on engines. Pure electric vehicles...

    M211 body measurements

Could anyone out there get me pictures with measurements for the cab and front sheet metal for the M211 series? I'm making a model of the truck for use in video games and for anyone looking for models of the truck but I need the measurements for the body of the truck. Angles would be nice too if...

    Singled Out Deuce Tractor

I'm going for a deuce tractor because its unique and more compact, and also because anyone in my family can drive it if need be (no CDL or non-CDL Class A unless towing trailer). Plus my township has 2 of them so I can easily go talk to the fleet mechanics for deuce specific problems. As for...

    Singled Out Deuce Tractor

Thanks for all the info guys. Rustystud, I'll check them out. tobyS, I'm not suggesting bobbing it. What I want to do is take a standard M35A2, put some a3 rims and tires or similar on the rear axels and put similar diameter standard width tires on the front. I'd also convert it from standard...

    Singled Out Deuce Tractor

I have another question regarding singles. Are there super singles available that have the same diameter as the 11.00x20 XL's or standard width tires that have the same diameter as 395's or M35A3 (I believe 14.00s)? I like the look of singles in the rear but they always seem too wide up front...

    Singled Out Deuce Tractor

Dave, I have been looking at your website for a while, but the trucks are all a bit pricey for me at the moment. I actually talked to my township's fleet mechanic, who works on 2 Deuce's, about you guys. He agrees that prices are a bit high but its all that's around. And when did you guys get...

    Singled Out Deuce Tractor

Thanks all. Wreckerman, you've actually PM'd me about the M275 before. In the end however, I am too far away and too short on cash to buy the truck. I wish I could be the owner but sadly I cant. Also the softened wheelbase concerns me when it comes to trailer towing.
