Clean all surrounding area of the fuel filter base, right side of engine and body frame where you see anything that may look to be wet.
Use a good engine cleaner and rinse. Do this a couple of times and let everything dry.
Start engine and inspect the fuel filter assembly area.
Most cases its...
RE: Any useful info about an M16A3 trailer and related specs
Most that I do see on GL are at the Marine Corps bases in Cali.
Im looking locally here in Hawaii and so far so good.
I thought something was wrong when they had it listed as a M16A3.
Being an ex Marine we are now using the M16A4...
I bought a new fuel filter assembly for my M1008 since it was leaking and giving very poor fuel milage.
When I got it it did not have the vacuum/pressure switch to come with it.
From TM 9-2320-289-20P Fig 18 page 18-1 its listed as a pressure switch.
What does this switch actually do and how...
Bidding on a M16A3 trailer which I think I will win since the site has more trailers then I have fingers and toes.
Just like to get some basic info on this trailer such as carrying/towing weight, what accessories belong to such trailer and so on.
All of the pics I see on GL shows that they all...
For the passenger side alt, I beleive the ground is directly behind Gen-2 on top of the block in about the same location as the Gen-1 ground is located.
Did the same as you as in rebuilding the Alts and still had same problem.
I did have one bad ground behind Gen-1 so I replaced the grounds for...
Crash,
I may have a extra fuel gauge sitting around. If so, maybe $10 plus cost of shipping.
Send me a PM if interested.
I bought a new one thinking it was bad but turned out to be the fuel sending unit.
I think I still have it sitting around somewhere.
Original springs, has a four inch block in back and many drop brackets under the frame lowering the swing bar, transmission brackets and ect.
It may be 3 inches but when I measured the blockes in back it measured 4"
Its a TH400. They said it also could be a trans filter, some valve inside the transmission, bands and even the govenor.
I think all they did was take it out for a test drive because they even had my air filter taken out and placed on the drivers seat.
I dont think they even did a vacuum test on...
Can always take out the lock cylinder and get the 4 digit key number from that or worse case buy a new lock and key cylinder and replace it but then again you would also have to do the same for the door locks.
Best bet is to get the key number from the cylinder and get one made from GM.
How about a section for each type of vehicle and that section would list the most common mechancal problems with common fixes. Have The section broken down as if it was comming from the TMs. Engine, transmission, brakes, electrical and ect....
Guess this section would be more like a trouble...
OK, I have a 1985 (M1008) vehicle which I bought maybe 3rd or 4th hand from other people.
Most of the info that was on the vehicle has been painted over so Ill give you what I have.
Make is a Chevy 1985 (M1008). Location is on the island of (Big Island, Hawaii).
VIN# 1GCGD34J5FF425632
I am...
The M1008 that I own had had a four inch body lift added to it before I bought the vehicle.
What size shocks should I be looking for? Looks like my M1008 still has the original springs and Im guessing the springs by themselfs gives the truck a 4 inch lift, then the 4 inch body lift should give...
I will do that in the morning. Makes me wonder if the place I did bring it to even looked at the transmission from underneith the vehicle. If so, I think they would have seen that I do not have a cat-convertor on this vehicle, only thing I do have is dual exhaust.
I will be bidding on a 6.2L engine with enclosed case this week on GL.
If won, would anyone be willing to help me ship it to Hawaii.
I need someone in or near the Jacksonville, FL area to help in the loading after I make shipping arrangements to Hawaii.
Am willing to pay for such help in the...
That was what I was thinking. When the transmission shop said clogged cat-convertor or obstruction in the exhaust pipe I thought ( My God, what people am I having to check out my transmission)!
When they said that is when I thought about a dirty or clogged sock in the fuel sending unit.
The only...
OK, went by the transmission shop and they did take a look and said that my gears sounded great but then it might be a transmission valve or some other minor gadget within the transmission.
Then they said I may have a bad cat-convertor!!!!
Yes, They actually said that and I know not of 1 M1008...
