Anybody have any specs to make spin filter adapters?

Excuse me, but if I design and build my own, just what do I owe the folks who sell their filter kits? If I designed my own and decided to publish the design, so what? I am a reasonably adept machinist, and this is not rocket science. I never said I was going to copy anything. On the contrary, I...

Anybody have any specs to make spin filter adapters?

One reason to make your own is that the ones for sale are way overpriced, in my humble opinion. On ebay every now and then someone sells an LDT465 oil filter housing assembly. I tried to buy one not long ago just to use as a mockup to design my own filter adapter. Alas, the guy broke it and...

    Lockout hubs

Since the ones on the front of my truck are Selectro's, unless I can get another brand too cheap to turn down, I would like them to match. I will see if they will sell me just one. On the axle part of it, who has those now and how much? Thanks - Mark

Looking for HEMTT seats for my Deuse

I am going to do something about the seats in my truck - I am just too fat. I like the idea of HEMTT seats. Who has them for sale right now, and how much can I expect to pay for a pair?

    5 ton wheels on 2 1/2?

I am pretty new to this site, but have been on the Internet since it's inception and am an I.T. professional. Helping people find things does not include saying "just search for it" when 1) you don't know what something is called, and 2) the search function on the site is not the best. We all...

    Removing the FDC for adjustment

You are right - After I put a EGT gauge on it, I will probably remove it and tweak it some. I will shoot some pics then.

    Removing the FDC for adjustment

I did wind up taking off the FDC. Since the thing had already been bypassed, all I had to do was cut one fuel line loop that was wound around another fuel line. While it was on the bench I got to take a good look at how it works and why you don't want to tuurn the shaft. While it was out I put...

    Removing the FDC for adjustment

Ah - see, now that's info I can use. If there are springs to lose, the FDC is staying on. Thanks!

    Removing the FDC for adjustment

Gee, thanks, Westech. Just so you know, I've been wrenching on motors (but not diesels) since I was in middle school. I just spent $5k on the truck and want to make sure I don't break anything. I thought I asked some simple questions. If I offended you, just don't reply. I have looked at TM...

    Removing the FDC for adjustment

Thanks for the reply! I thought of that, too. Looks like that might be my plan. However, does it hurt anything to remove the FDC? Mine's been bypassed, so it looks like four bolts, a light tap with a little rubber mallet, and it pops off. Can this hurt anything? Now - I thought I read somewhere...

    Removing the FDC for adjustment

Right - I have read as many as I can find. My questions still stand. If you know the answers, would you be so kind as to spare a few keystrokes for me?

    Removing the FDC for adjustment

I am going to turn up the adjustment screw on the FDC on my duece and the heater makes it really hard to get to it. Would it make more sense to remove the FDC, adjust it, then bolt it back on? Also, I have some questions about the adjusting. When you hold the outer nut and turn the inner one...

Best place to buy Deuce Selectro Hubs

The hubs came about two hours ago. They don't go on as easy as you would think. I struggled to get the bolts in for quite a while until I realized that I was going to have to ream the holes just a bit. I think that the spacer plate has it's holes located correctly, but the hubs were not quite...

How do you guys charge your batteries?

I use these and have had great success with them, however I have learned that they don't really have "Weatherproof construction" as their ads will say. Mount them somewhere that will stay dry and they work great. Let them get even a little wet and all the magic smoke comes out of them.

Best place to buy Deuce Selectro Hubs

According to UPS, they show up Monday. I will be installing them Monday night, but I can't take a test drive until I complete the muffler install (walker 21470). I am waiting on a 7-inch clamp to bolt it to the original mount with. The muffler is on right now - it is a lot quieter, but until I...

Best place to buy Deuce Selectro Hubs

I called Summit - not only are they going to match Race-Mart's price, they are going to arrange a drop-ship from Mile Marker so that I get it a week sooner. Summit rocks! patracy - thanks for the tip!
