About to get my 1st Deuce, few ?'s

Good to know I don't have to hook up the compensator to run WMO. My trailer is a 40' Dual Tandem deckover with torque tube, and I specifically ordered my truck as a tow vehicle w/30k hitch and all EPA emissions removed. Neither will be over their legal weight limits. The only main concern is...

About to get my 1st Deuce, few ?'s

Finally found the truck I've been looking for. AM General M35A2 with the whistler turbo, winch, and NO rust. Overhauled in 1992 and now only has 2200 miles on the odometer. I've got a few questions. *Any tips for hauling it back, other than low overpasses? I'll be pulling a 40' Gooseneck with...

    Alternative Fuels for M35 Multi

Filters shouldn't be a problem, as long as I can find new ones. Cold weather, not down here. Those Prius's are annoying, I gotta pick those things out of the grills of my trucks everyday, maybe I should just get a bug screen.

    Alternative Fuels for M35 Multi

Are their any long term effects from running the truck on %50 Diesel & %50 WMO constantly?

    Installing a hardtop

RE: Re: RE: Installing a hardtop You think you could get some pictures of the install. I'll be doing the same thing in a few weeks when I get my Deuce.

    Alternative Fuels for M35 Multi

I'm sorry if this has been beat to death but I want to get a good scope of what I can run in a Deuce. I'm planning on buying one in the next few months and need to know how I can afford to drive it around without using off-road diesel. I'm mostly interested in using a mix of diesel and WMO...

    What year is my deuce?

Going from the contract number it was ordered in 1970, but could have been produced afterward.

    Trailering a deuce

There are some drivers who believe they can tow anything and get away with it, unfortunately those are the ones who get in the news and ruin it for us legitimate drivers. Hopefully in the next few months I will be making a 30 hour round trip to go pick up my first deuce, and with my towing...

Planning on buying my first Deuce

Hopefully within the next month or two I will be purchasing a Deuce. I found one that is exactly what I've been wanting, it's a little pricey but it's in great shape. And by no means is it going to be a trailer queen, I intend on using it daily for work on my ranch. I've got a few questions...

    Trailering a deuce

Did he specify if he went to a mandatory highway scale or just a scale at a truck stop? That truck was not even close to being within it's weight limits. A Dodge 5500 chassis cab is rated to tow 26k max, and that truck isn't a 5500. If he grossed at 43k he's 5+ tons overweight.

    Trailering a deuce

I tow with a gooseneck a lot and I can almost guarantee that trailer is over GVWR. I've got a 39' Dual 10k tandem and it weighs in at 6,500 lbs, so essentially it's max load is 13,500 but you can add 2000-4000 lbs for tongue weight. That truck is defiantly squatting too. The mud flaps are only...
